Siracusa Archaeological Park of Neapolis (with the Greek Theater, the Roman Amphitheater, the ear of Dionysus, the Ara of Ierone) and relaxing walk on the island of Ortigia, historic center of Syracuse (Duomo, Tempio d'Apollo, Fonte Arethusa). Catania Walk through the streets of the historic center (Piazza Duomo, Via Etnea, Pescheria Market, Ursino Castle, Greek-Roman Theater, etc.). Full Day Palermo Visit of the historic center of the splendid Sicilian capital. From the Norman Palace built around the 10th century by the Arab emirs to the Cathedral of Palermo, unique architecture of its kind. Tour dei Monti Iblei We will visit the prehistoric necropolis of Pantalica, the ancient Greek city of Akrai, one of the most beautiful villages in Italia: Palazzolo Acreide and by car we will admire beautiful landscapes and many small villages such as Sortino, Buccheri, Busemi. Etna The trekking routes studied by the team will allow you to explore the wonders of Etna, its lava caves, volcanic craters to discover the mysteries and curiosities of the highest active volcano in Europe. Ragusa, Modica, Scigli We could call it MONTALBANO TOUR because it is in these three cities with a Baroque soul that the famous TV series is filmed. We will walk among churches, noble palaces, courtyards, stairways and suggestive panoramas. We will taste the Modica chocolate and decide together where and when to stop for the lunch break. Siracusa, Noto, Marzamemi Visit of the Archaeological Park of Syracuse, walk on the island of Ortigia with free lunch; we leave to visit the charming baroque town of Noto, with its churches and noble palaces. We will finish this tour in the ancient fishing village of Marzamemi with the Tonnara and the opportunity to taste typical local fish and agricultural products. Villa Romana del Casale We will go to the center of Sicily to visit one of the wonders of the entire Roman era: the residence of the Roman governor of Sicily, of which the splendid mosaics, the baths and many rooms remain. Etna e Taormina We will arrive by car at the Sapienza Refuge, we will take a walk around the Silvestri Craters, then we will make a stop in Zafferana Etnea to see where the 1992 lava flow stopped (a stone's throw from the first houses in the town). Free lunch break. Leaving Etna we will move to Taormina where we will take a walk in the historic center, the excellence of Sicilian tourist nightlife. Valley of the Temples e Scala dei Turchi We will visit the ancient and glorious Greek city of Akragas, of which mainly the splendid temples remain, but also much more. Possibility of visiting the interesting Archaeological Museum. Then we will move to admire a beautiful white cliff and find out why it was called Scala dei Turchi. This will be explored through a case study related to South-Eastern Sicilian UNESCO sites (in particular Syracuse).     The Villa Romana del Casale, Piazza Armerina "There are places through history, where time has left its voice and truth its mystery. In the heart of the Mediterranean, near the town of Piazza Armerina, lies the valley of Casale in which skilled workers wrought in stone, a testimony to all of classic humanity. While the wind of time buried its remains, there appeared on the squares of the mosaic a story in which was sewn the echo of infinite days. It composed the semblances of memory and sings to posterity the song of Ulysses, of Ambrosia, the song of hunting and harvesting, of giants and that of the empire while never forgetting human destiny, that in its most significant expressions remains a mystery…"The Villa Romana del Casale was built between the end of the third century and the beginning of the fourth century AD amid a system of large estates that belonged to powerful Roman families that went to hunt or spend holidays there. Certain intellectuals believe the villa to have belonged to a member of the hierarchy of the Roman Empire (a Consul), while others maintain that it belonged to the Emperor M. Valerio Massimiano, known as Herculeos Victor. Inhabited during the Arab domination, the villa was partially destroyed by the Normans. Afterwards, a spate of mud originating from the Monte Mangone, submerged it almost completely. The first archaeological excavations at a scientific level and promoted by the commune of Piazza Armerina, were carried out in 1881. The excavations were resumed again between 1935 and 1939, and finally, with the intervention of the Sicilian region, the entire complex was unveiled in the 1950s thanks to the efforts of the archaeologist Vinicio Gentili.
