Your decision to voluntarily participate in the Region 5 Championship Show, hosted by the Region 5 Arabian Horse Club is one you must take seriously. Our nation and planet are experiencing a health crisis not seen in over a century. The direct toll on humanity from loss of life due to COVID-19, and indirectly due to economic and other factors will be felt for years to come.

The Region 5 Arabian Horse Club, along with AHA and USEF, recognize the seriousness of the Corona-19 virus pandemic. Successful implementation and conduct of this horse show hinge on you making a personal commitment to follow published guidelines from the CDC, other health and government agencies, and this horse show. You must abide by the guidelines to mitigate risk to yourself and other participants. To mitigate risk for yourself and others, you must keep your “social footprint” as small as possible, practice social distancing, and rigorously follow the Best Practices specified within this document and stated at the show. Wash your hands throughout the day and use hand sanitizer. Be honest with how you’re feeling and immediately self-isolate and call medical personnel if you experience coronavirus-related symptoms. Finally, keep an eye on others, and help enforce our guidelines among your peer groups. If you see something that’s not right, say something. We believe that it is important for our horse show, and all horse shows to take any steps that are prudent, responsible, and safe to get our industry working again.

We will follow the guidelines and best practices outlined from AHA and USEF. We will update any changes to Protocols via our website and Face Book page as they are mandated by state, local, USEF and AHA.

25 REGION 5 COVID-19 AGREEMENT

• I certify that to the best of my knowledge I am free of COVID 19 and have been following the guidelines set forth by the CDC and the governing agencies of my primary place of residence. I have not experienced any of the COVID 19 symptoms, tested positive, or been in contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID 19 in the last fourteen days. • I certify that at least once each day of the horse show I am monitoring my temperature. If my temperature is over 99.5 F I will not enter the showgrounds. • I understand that the horse show will operate as a “Show and Go” experience and that I will not spend extra time on the grounds before and after competing. • I understand that all of the Best Practices, rules, and other requirements are in effect from that date horses are first allowed to move in until the show concludes, regardless of when competition is running. • I understand that the stable area will be restricted to essential staff only. Trainers will provide a list of essential staff via email or upon arrival at the show. If I am grooming my horse or I serve as my own trainer I will be allowed stable access. • I agree to wear a face covering when unable to maintain a six-foot distance from another person. I agree to keep a mask on my person to wear when not able to socially distance. While riding I will maintain social distancing. Masks may be worn without penalty when mounted in warm-up or while showing. • I will follow all rules regarding arenas and authorized riding arenas and times. • I understand that I may not bring friends or family with me to the show. Exception: junior riders (minors) may be accompanied by one parent or guardian. That person must adhere to all the same rules and procedures as the exhibitor. • I understand and agree that I, and as applicable, my clients will abide by the above and follow all rules implemented due to the Covid-19 health emergency during the show and/or at any time on the Horse Show Grounds.
