The new President of Banco do Brasil, Cássio Casseb Lima was inducted into office today, January 29, at 3 o’clock p.m. Brasília time. After the inauguration, he attended a press conference.

Below, the resumés of the members of the Board of Officers of Banco do Brasil:

Cássio Casseb Lima, 48, graduated in Engineering at the University of São Paulo (1978) and started his career at the BankBoston (1976), where he worked with Leasing and Credit. In 1979, he moved to the Banco Francês & Brasileiro (Credit Lyonnais) where he stayed for nine years, as Account Officer, CFO in and Commercial Officer for the Northwest Region. He left the Credit Lyonnais to join the Banco Mantrust SRL, a joint-venture of the Manufacturers Hannover with local professionals, where he worked for four years, as CFO and later as Executive Vice President. In 1992, he coordinated the industrial restructuring of the Vila Romana Group. In 1993, Casseb Lima moved to Citibank, to hold the position of Financial Vice President (Treasurer), in charge of the areas of Products Development and Derivatives. He was also member of the Board of the National Association of Open Market Institutions (ANDIMA) and of the Brazilian Banking Science Institute (IBCB). He became the President of the company Credicard S.A in 1997. In May 1999, Casseb Lima received the mission to redefine, together with the shareholders, the focus and the industrial strategy of the Holding which controls the companies Vicunha Textil, Fibra Dupont, Fibrasil, Companhia Siderúrgica Nacional (CSN), Vale do Rio Doce, Maxitel and Banco Fibra. He was member of the Board of Directors of Vicunha, Banco Fibra and Solpart (Brasil Telecom). Presently he is one of the supporters and manager of the Institute Reciclar, a social project for youngsters of the Jaguaré slum.

Agribusiness and Governmental Affairs Vice President - Ricardo Alves da Conceição - Economist, 58 years old. Vice President of Agribusiness and Governmental Affairs of Banco do Brasil; Chief Officer of Rural, Agroindustrial and Governmental Affairs of Banco do Brasil (1995-2001); Executive Secretary of the Agriculture Ministry (1994). Employee of Banco do Brasil for 37 years.

Human Resources and Credit Vice President - Luiz Oswaldo Sant´Iago Moreira de Souza - Graduated in Pedagogy, 56 years old. Member of the Fiscal Council of Banco do Brasil affiliated pension fund (Previ) (2000); President of the Fiscal Council of Banco do Brasil Foundation (2001-2002); Member of the Fiscal Council of Banco do Brasil (2001-2002); Head of the Training Departament of Banco do Brasil (1993-1994).
