France is the guest of honour at Reeperbahn Festival 2018. The French music export office Le Bureau Export has been a reliable partner since the very first Reeperbahn Festival, as Marc Thonon, CEO of Le Bureau Export, confirms: " In 2006, at the very first edition of Reeperbahn Festival, Le Bureau Export was one of the first export offices to partner up with the event. Over the past 12 years, this partnership has made possible numerous conferences, events and of course showcases that have in many cases led to French-signed bands breaking into the GAS markets." Le Bureau Export will be aiming to promote the rich diversity of French productions and talent of the artists from the French music scene. These artists will be showing the full range of their work with a televised opening evening, and 54 concerts and showcases throughout the 4 days of this Focus France. Besides HER and IBEYI performing at the famous Elbphilharmonie, there will be “made in France” headliners like METRONOMY and PARCELS playing live at the festival. The eclectic line up is rounded off by numerous artists representing the incredible range of music coming out of France right now: L’IMPERATRICE‘s unstoppable disco-pop, KIMBEROSE’s soulful vocals, KAZY LAMBIST’s playful electronica, the joyful sounds of MELISSA LAVEAUX, PART-TIME FRIENDS’ catchy radio-pop and many, many more. Our brand What the France will be your guide to the line up with dedicated playlists and with two special nights to experience the stellar line-up of French-produced artists. More than 80 French professionals will have the chance to meet their colleagues from around the world during industry-specific speed meeting sessions (focused live and recorded meetings), artist pitches, or over a glass of wine at the Meet The French networking reception on the Thursday evening. Pupils from Hamburg learning French will be invited to meet L'Impératrice as part of the FrancoMusiques project. 18 of the most influential leaders from the institutions, organisations and companies that make up the French music industry will take part in keynotes, panels and public interviews. They will share their best practices and ideas that will highlight that France, the country that founded the idea of 'cultural exception', is still at the cutting edge of supporting and protecting the musical ecosystem. Numerous French key- players will take part in the juries and on the boards of the IMJA and Anchor Awards. Germany is the third most important music market in the world, ahead of France, and is also the number one territory for French export. The richness of French repertoire and the very open-minded welcome of the German public has a lot to do with this. This edition of Reeperbahn Festival will be a new chance to show this! Enjoy the shows! The team of Le Bureau Export 4 KEY ECONOMIC FIGURES FRENCH EXPORT IN GERMANY : No less than 19 singles by French-produced artists went Platinum or Gold in 2017!
