The Premier said this while addressing at a ftinction on the occasion of the National Public Service Day and distribution of the Public Administration Award 2020 and 2021 at the Osmani Mernorial auditorium, joining virtually from Ganabhaban in Dhaka yesterday. The Prime Minister called upon the public servants to work for the welfare of the country and its people, announcing actions for wrongdoings and awards for good works. Mentioning that as many as 1.87 crore people have so far been brought under the vaccinatiotl, she said that her govemment would purchase vaccines for all, including students and teachers, and continue the inoculation until everyone comes under the vaccination campaign. Sheikh Hasina earlier unveiled covers of two memorial books, editions of writings of the public servants regarding initiatives taken by Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mijibur Rahman for the development of the public adrninistration. Thitty-six officials and organisations got the medals for their outstanding performances in their respective fields. Liberation War Affairs Minister A K M Mozammel Huq distributed the medals on behalf of the Prime Minister. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina asked Awami Swechasebak League leaders and activists to help people in getting vaccines in rural areas and motivate them to go for Covid-l9 test so they can receive proper treatment. The Premier made the call while addressing the 27th founding anniversary of Bangladesh Awami Swechasebak League at its central office in the capital, joining virtually from Ganabhaban yesterday. The Prime Minister also unveiled the cover of a book "One Year of Swechasebak League". Meanwhile, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina released a 10-Taka commemorative postage stamp, a 10- Taka opening day cover and a frve-Taka Data Card at marking the 50th birth anniversary of her ICT Affairs Adviser Sajeeb Wazed Joy and a grandson of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in a simple ceremony at Ganabhaban yesterday. Meanwhile, the 51st birthday Sajeeb Wazed Joy was celebrated yesterday amid increasing public expectations about his future role in political arena as by now he played the pivotal role in setting the country's crucial course being the beacon of 'Digital Bangladesh'. Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader hoped Bangladesh would lead in the 4th ildustrial revolution holding the hands of Bangabandhu's grandson Sajeeb Wazed Joy with the cooperation of architect of development and achievement Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. He said this while addressing a webinar titled "Progressing Digital Technology under the Leadership of Jananetri Sheikh Hasina: Pioneer from Mujib to Sajeeb" yesterday. He said Digital Bangladesh is the modern from of 'Sonar Bangla' dreamt by Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Bangabandhu had initiated the journey towards Digital Bangladesh by establishing a satellite eafth station at Betbunia on June 14, 1975 and in contention of that today Bangladesh has been turned into a Digital Bangladesh under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, he added. Sajeeb Wazed Joy, also ICT Affairs Adviser to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, is spearheading the task of materializing Bangabandhu's dream with utmost sincerity and honesty, he said. The government will launch a mass vaccination campaign at union level from August 7. Rejecting the statement of Amnesty International over the Digital Security Act in Bangladesh, lnformation and Broadcasting Minister Dr. Hasan Mahmud said the statement of the organization is motivated. While talking to the reporters at his residence in the capital yesterday, he also added, the Amnesty International has lost its icceptability, the organization is vocal most of the time, but it remains massively N silent many times too. The National Board of Revenue is going to introduce a new system through online from September I as the taxpayers would be able to submit their income tax returns from mobile phones. The taxpayers would be able to submit their tax returns for the current fiscal year by using the website of the NBR or using their respective mobile phone sets, said a handout yesterday.
