Dr. Sheikh Mahabub Alam* Director of Technical Operations. Australasian Water and Environmental Services (AWES) Pty. Ltd. Sydney, NSW Australia Tel: +61 431 003 191 Email: [email protected] Received: 26 June 2019 | Accepted: 29 June 2019 Published: 01July, 2019 Abstract: Bangabandhu created Bangladesh. In the land of rivers the helm is tightly held by Desh Ratna and the acceleration is controlled by Sajeeb Wazed Joy the geneus Harvardian since 21 August 2004 when Sheikh Hasina was miraculously saved by her body guards and well-wishers from the deadliest grenade attack in the political history. After the incident Sajeeb Wazed played a dual role: firstly, he protected his mother at all time and secondly, he devoted his talent to made unparallel contribution towards the digtization of Bangladesh. The architect of digitization gained worldwide endorsement and praise including US president Barak Obama and got the reward from world organization to become among the top 250 young global leaders. The duo (mother and son) is making a five star development of the country and commended by the entire world. The World Bank that was previously critical to Bangladesh government is now happily endorsing the government and declared that Bangladesh is among the five fastest growing economies in the world. Harvard is one of the best university on the universe and talented Sajeeb Wazed Joy is trained by that institution. With mother leadership and son’s expertise the country is rapidly progressing towards the path of economic prosperity. The performance of the dual leadership is amazingly watched by the global leaders and world community has rated Bangadesh economy as a “Shining Star” among the next Eleven Economy of the world. Current GDP growth is 7.9% and the infrastructral and industrial revolution in connection with the Completion of “Padma Bridge” by the end of December 2020 the experts believes that the growth rate will climb to double digit and the country will make anothet rcord of achieving “Developed Economy Status” sooner than predicted. Joy explained that his motehr has set a rare example to the world by showing humanity at its best through the opening the door for >1 million refuges from Myanmar being a small coutry with limited resources when the most powerful and richest nations in the world has turned a blind eye. Bangabandhu blood and his offsprings never bow down or compromise with anything that is unjust, unfair, wrong and they proved it again with evidence that the World Bank report was misleading in connection with “Padma Bridge”. Sheikh Hasina and Sajeeb Wazed took the biggest challege of their life and refused the World Bank finance and instead decided to Build “Padma Multipupose Bridge Project” with ountry’s own funds and resources and made history. Sajeeb Wazed Joy is a miracle baby blessed, predicted and named by his grandfather. He was born in prison and Paksitan and their agents made several attempts to kill them but were miraculously saved. At the age of 4 years Sajeeb Wazed saved himself and his mother by forcing her to take him to Germany just two weeks before the assasination of Bangabandhu and his exrended family on 15 August 1975. Banganadhu sensed the freedom and he symbolically named his first granson as ‘Joy” (victory). Bangladesh got the freedom and the nation wellcomed the birth of Joy. Sajeeb Wazed brought the victory for the country and the world famous Harvardian is ready to govern Bangladesh to elevate the status towards a developed nation. 2337 Journal of Research and Opinion Vol 6 issue 07 2019 Page No. : 2337-2368 Dr. Sheikh Mahabub Alam /Sajeeb Wazed – The Genius Harvardian: Bangladesh Is Ready To Roll Down The Red Carpet To Welcome Our New Leader With Delightful Joy. But before going to jail Bangabandhu predicted Sheikh Hasina is going to deliver a boy and Bangabandhu (figure 1) picked a nick name for his first grand child as “Joy” meaning victory in Bengali. But in 1975 his father was finishing his doctoral research in Germany. Sajeeb Wazed was making everyone mad, and constantly asking his mum to take him to his dad she finally agreed to take him to Germany to make Joy happy just two weeks before the assasination of Banggabandhu and his exteded family member on 15 August 1975 (Alam, 2017). During the end of December when Pakistan army srarted to surrender to the Indian counterpart, a group of Indian Army command started to search around for the Bangabandhu family and they found them unhurt. The pakistan solders did not realise they will be found so quickly and the Pakistan soldiers requested them to give them half an hour to pack up and come back after 30 minites and they pleaded over and over again. FRONT COVER 1 3 PEN INTERNATIONAL CHARTER The PEN Charter is based on resolutions passed at its International Congresses and may be summarised as follows: PEN affirms that: 1. Literature knows no frontiers and must remain common currency among people in spite of political or international upheavals. 2. In all circumstances, and particularly in time of war, works of art, the patrimony of humanity at large, should be left untouched by national or political passion. 3. Members of PEN should at all times use what influence they have in favour of good understanding and mutual respect between nations; they pledge themselves to do their utmost to dispel race, class and national hatreds, and to champion the ideal of one humanity living in peace in one world. 4. PEN stands for the principle of unhampered transmission of thought within each nation and between all nations, and members pledge themselves to oppose any form of suppression of freedom of expression in the country and community to which they belong, as well as throughout the world wherever this is possible. PEN declares for a free press and opposes arbitrary censorship in time of peace. It believes that the necessary advance of the world towards a more highly organised political and economic order renders a free criticism of governments, administrations and institutions imperative. And since freedom implies voluntary restraint, members pledge themselves to oppose such evils of a free press as mendacious publication, deliberate falsehood and distortion of facts for political and personal ends. Membership of PEN is open to all qualified writers, editors and translators who subscribe to these aims, without regard to nationality, ethnic origin, language, colour or religion.

  • A Loss on Victory Day
Submit your contest entry in the space below: A Loss On Victory Day Based on a true story In March of 1971, after years of oppression under West Pakistan, East Pakistan (now Bangladesh) declared its independence. West Pakistan retaliated with infamous brutality, killing not only hundreds of thousands of freedom fighters but up to three million innocent civilians. Despite the brutality, Bangladesh persisted, and on December 16th, 1971 the country earned its freedom. Dhaka, December 16th, 1971: After months of darkness, the world had finally shone its light on Hala’s city. She hardly knew what freedom meant, but she knew it had been earned today through victory. Victory—that’s what the grownups cheered throughout the streets. The streets that had finally woken up after months of sullen slumber. Hala had left the house all by herself, against her baba’s wishes. “You mustn't go out alone today. It’s not a place for a little girl.” But I’m not alone, she thought. Today, the whole city was her friend. Baba wouldn’t understand, though. Baba never understands. And anyways, Baba would never know she disobeyed him. He was napping, and Hala would be back well before he woke up and took notice of her absence. Baba never noticed anything, but Hala didn’t mind. More fun for her —and more trouble— and that’s how she liked it. Hala picked the beli flowers that lined the front of her neighbor’s lawn. They smelt soft and sweet and reminded Hala of her mother. She coiled a few in her short, thick curls, forming a halo with the white petals.

Mr. Chairman, At this moment Bangladesh is facing impact of one of the worst flash flood in the history of the country. It was record highest rainfall in the month of April 2017 in last 36 years. Climate change is considered as the cause of this erratic rainfall and consequent flood. The Government of Bangladesh is addressing the disaster in a coordinated manner. Resources of relevant ministries are pulled to support the affected people under the coordination of Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief (MoDMR). The matter is well taken care of by our government. Our investment in disaster risk reduction and response preparedness is paying back. We have overcome the shock with our national capacity and after shock recovery activities are on track. Mr. Chairman Bangladesh is now taking disaster risk management to the next level. On our endeavour towards vision 2021, we have taken initiatives to mainstream Disaster Risk Management through the 7th Five Year Plan (7FYP), the medium term national development plan of the country. Now DRR is a shared responsibility of all ministries. Medium Term Budgetary Framework (MTBF) has also been prioritised Disaster Risk Management considering the country’s vulnerability to multiple hazards.

  • 5. PRELIMINARY FACILITY DESIGN 5.1 Preliminary Design of River
THE FEASIBILITY STUDY OF PADMA BRIDGE FINAL REPORT – EXECUTIVE SUMMARY - MARCH 2005 results of simulations suggest that the hydraulic design parameters for the preliminary designs are appropriate and adverse impacts due to the project construction will be minor in terms of hydrodynamics and river morphology for the design flood under 2003/04 conditions. The impacts, indicated as the differences in the ‘without project’ and ‘with project’ scenario conditions, are minor as a whole. For the design flood of the 100-year return period, the increment of the highest water level is almost negligible and only a +0.1m/sec increment would occur in the depth-averaged flow velocity. Two-dimensional Modeling and Simulation (2003/04 Padma 2-D Long-term Model): The long-term simulation represents the indicative tendency for riverbed scour or deposition for locations for periods of 5 and 10 years respectively. The simulation results suggest that no large impact in terms of mid- and long-term morphological processes would be expected from the project construction. (3) Estimate of Maximum Scour Depth Types of Riverbed Scour: Natural and structure-induced scours were taken into account in the estimation of maximum scour depth. The natural scour was estimated as the sum of bend and confluence scours that could occur simultaneously under the worst case scenario, while structure-induced scours such as those around the bank protection works and bridge piers were calculated under natural scour flow conditions. Design Maximum Scour Depth (DMSD): A total scour depth was calculated assuming the worst combination of the relevant types of scour. In order to account for extra scour, which may be induced by unforeseen and compounding structural influences, the total scour was multiplied by a factor of 1.20 to determine the design maximum scour depth (DMSD).
