PUBLICATION OF ARTICLES WRITTEN BY CANADIAN GOVERNMENT CIVIL SERVANTS LICENSING AGREEMENT

Introduction 1. Articles and presentations written by Canadian Government civil servants in the course of their duties are covered by Crown . Crown copyright is managed by Ministers responsible for government departments or agencies where the civil servants are employed

Definitions 2. In this Licence, the terms below have the following meanings:

Authors: ______name of every author employed by the Department

Department: ______name of department

Minister: Minister of ______name of department srepresenting Her Majesty the Queen in Right of

Work: ______title of copyright article or presentation

Publisher: The publisher identified in the Journal (“Wiley”) for itself or on behalf of the society or other organization identified in the Journal as the copyright owner of the Journal

Publication: ______title of the publication in which the Work is to appear, if part of a larger work, and/or title and uri of the website on which it is to appear

Warranty 3. The Authors warrant that the Work infringes no existing copyright and contains no material of a defamatory,obscene or otherwise unlawful nature.They further warrant that the Department has obtained permission for the publication of any copyright material contained in the Work that is not owned by the Crown.

Licence 4. In respect of the Department's copyright interest in the Work,the Minister grants the Publisher the non-exclusive rights to: • publish the Work and parts thereof in any format throughout the world; • sub-license Publisher's customers to access the Work in digital products and services; • authorize the inclusion of the Work in collective licensing schemes such as that operated by the Copyright Licensing Agency; and • authorize the Work to be included as part of third party services, such as document delivery, abstracting and indexing services.

Responsibilities of the Publisher 5. The Publisher must: • include an acknowledgement of Crown copyright in the following form: ‘©Her Majesty the Queen in Right of Canada [year of publication]. Reproduced with the permission of the Minister of [name of Department]’; • identify the Authors of the Work in a suitably prominent manner • reproduce the Work accurately and without alteration or amendment except with the prior approval of the Authors; • not publish the Work for the purpose of advertising or promoting a particular product or service unless the Publisher has the prior approval of the Department or the Authors, such consent not to be unreasonably withheld or delayed; • provide an electronic copy of the Publication to each Author; • acknowledge that the Accepted Article may be posted on an Open Access website 12 months after publication.
