A distanza di tre anni, nel 2003 e nel 2006, escono due pregevoli collections Platinum and Gold collection (RCA) e Keep on Truckin’: The Very Best of Hot Tuna (RCA). Di recente uscita: nel 2007 Stars in my Crown e nel 2009 River of Time. 3356715992 www.slangmusic.com - [email protected] Discografia LIVE AT THE NEW ORLEANS HOUSE (1970) RCA FIRST PULL UP THEN PULL DOWN (1971) Wounded Bird in collaborazione con Blue Sky Promotion BURGERS (1972) Grunt Hot Tuna THE PHOSPHORESCENT RAT (1974) Sony Music Slang Music Via S.Francesco, 3 - 25075 Nave (BS) Tel. 0302531536 - Fax 0302536348 - Cell. 3356715992 www.slangmusic.com - [email protected] AMERICA’S CHOICE (1975) Sony Music YELLOW FEVER (1975) RCA HOPPKORV (1976) RCA DOUBLE DOSE (1978) Wounded Bird Slang Music Via S.Francesco, 3 - 25075 Nave (BS) Tel. 0302531536 - Fax 0302536348 - Cell. 3356715992 www.slangmusic.com - [email protected] FINAL VYNIL (1979) Wounded Bird PAIR A DICE FOUND (1990) Epic in collaborazione con Blue Sky Promotion LIVE AT SWEETWATER (1992) Eagle Hot Tuna SPLASHDOWN (1997) Relix Slang Music Via S.Francesco, 3 - 25075 Nave (BS) Tel. 0302531536 - Fax 0302536348 - Cell. 3356715992 www.slangmusic.com - [email protected] FURTHERMORE (1999) Arista LIVE IN JAPAN (2004) Eagle PLATINUM AND GOLD COLLECTION (2003) RCA KEEP ON TRUCKIN’: The Very Best of Hot Tuna (2006) RCA Slang Music Via S.Francesco, 3 - 25075 Nave (BS) Tel. 0302531536 - Fax 0302536348 - Cell. 3356715992 www.slangmusic.com - [email protected] STARS IN MY CROWN (2007) Hot Tuna Ltd. Mill Valley Oral History Program A collaboration between the Mill Valley Historical Society and the Mill Valley Public Library David Getz An Oral History Interview Conducted by Debra Schwartz in 2020 © 2020 by the Mill Valley Public Library TITLE: Oral History of David Getz INTERVIEWER: Debra Schwartz DESCRIPTION: Transcript, 60 pages INTERVIEW DATE: January 9, 2020 In this oral history, musician and artist David Getz discusses his life and musical career. Born in New York City in 1940, David grew up in a Jewish family in Brooklyn. David recounts how an interest in Native American cultures originally brought him to the drums and tells the story of how he acquired his first drum kit at the age of 15. David explains that as an adolescent he aspired to be an artist and consequently attended Cooper Union after graduating from high school. David recounts his decision to leave New York in 1960 and drive out to California, where he immediately enrolled at the San Francisco Art Institute and soon after started playing music with fellow artists. David explains how he became the drummer for Big Brother and the Holding Company in 1966 and reminisces about the legendary Monterey Pop Festival they performed at the following year. He shares numerous stories about Janis Joplin and speaks movingly about his grief upon hearing the news of her death. David discusses the various bands he played in after the dissolution of Big Brother and the Holding Company, as well as the many places he performed over the years in Marin County. He concludes his oral history with a discussion of his family: his daughters Alarza and Liz, both of whom are singer- songwriters, and his wife Joan Payne, an actress and singer.

Guess what? We have just celebrated our 18th anniversary. Those who try things we recommend are rewarded. We have stayed in business for one reason and that is we have never attempted to appeal to the lowest common denominator as mainstream outlets do. At the same time we recognise that people do have different tastes and to some CMT is actually good. We also appeal to those people and offer many mainstream items in our bargain bin. But the legends and true country music are our bread butter and will always be. If you see something you think you may like but are worried let us know. If you pass our inquisition we may be able to send it on a sale or return basis. I say inquisition because if your favourite artists are SheDaisy and Rascal Flatts we certainly aren’t going to risk something as precious as Justin Trevino. By the same token we believe great music is timeless and knows no bounds. People may think chuck steak is good until they try the best rump! Recently I had the pleasure of seeing Dale Watson. Before hand I had the added pleasure of sitting in with my compatriot Eddie White (a.k.a. “The Cosmic Cowboy”) for an interview at the 2RRR Studios. Dale is a humble, engaging and extremely likeable man with a passion for tradition.

RED HOUSE RECORDS Publicity Contact: Ellen Stanley • [email protected] • (651) 644-4161 HOT TUNA Steady As She Goes RHR-CD-241 • Release Date: April 5, 2011 RHR-LP-241 • Release Date: May, 2011 Iconic roots rockers return with their first new studio album in 20 years! Red House Records is pleased to announce the April 5, 2011 release of Steady As She Goes, the first new album in twenty years from the legendary Hot Tuna. Featuring Rock & Roll Hall of Famers and Jefferson Airplane founding members Jack Casady and Jorma Kaukonen, the band celebrates over four decades of playing together. Now, with the release of their Red House debut, they prove that they remain one of the most innovative bands in American music. Why did it take so long for Hot Tuna to record a new album? “Well, it just worked out that way,” Kaukonen says. “Hot Tuna never quit playing. The moment just wasn’t right before; now it is, and we have a great project to show for it.” Returning to upstate New York decades after Kaukonen and Casady first played Woodstock, they went into Levon Helm’s studio over the winter to record twelve new tracks with mandolin player Barry Mitterhoff and drummer Skoota Warner (Cyndi Lauper, Matisyahu, Santana). Working with famed producer Larry Campbell (who Kaukonen worked with on his last solo album River of Time) the band plugged in for the electric Hot Tuna album that fans have been waiting for. Taking no prisoners, the band tears into it, kicking off with the rocking Americana number “Angel of Darkness” (co- written by Kaukonen and Campbell).
