There are no less than half a dozen good radio stations in southeastern Michigan. We believe that an advertising campaign COUNTRY on any one of them, intelligently and ade- quately planned, will prove satisfactory. WE KNOW -and an increasingly large number of important national advertisers with impressive names are daily proving to them- selves -that a surprisingly moderate appro- priation used on WCAR will deliver a potent message to a large, loyal audience with far CKAC more than ordinary results. MONTREAL W C A R- P o n t i a c Advertising men were astonished that any radio station 5000 Watts 730 Kc. should admit: (1) that there are other stations in the vicinity; (2) that anybody ever advertises on them; (3) that any misguided advertiser could ever be happy in so doing. Hasn't an eminent half -Englishman, half- American, Columbia Outlet recently taught all propagandists (including advertising media and men) the irresistible effect of plain speaking, and U.S.A.     Sheigra DXpedition Report 12 th to 25 th October 2019 - with Dave Kenny & Alan Pennington This was the 58th DXpedition to Sheigra in Sutherland on the far north western tip of the Scottish mainland, just south of Cape Wrath. DXers made the first long drive up here in 1979, so this we guess, was the 40 th anniversary? And the DXers who first made the trip to Sheigra in 1979 to listen to MW would probably notice little change here today: the single-track road ending in the same cluster of cottages, the cemetery besides the track towards the sea and, beyond that, the machair in front of Sheigra’s sandy bay. And surrounding Sheigra, the wild windswept hillsides, lochans and rocky cliffs pounded by the Atlantic. The licensees must submit their renewal applications by no later than 31 August 2019. 2. Licensees who do not wish to renew their licences beyond the expiry date indicated in this notice must advise the Commission in writing by no later than 31 August 2019. 3. The revised appendices are attached to this decision and include the following changes: • In Appendix 1, the call letters of two Toronto stations have been corrected to read “CKFM-FM, formerly CFMX-FM,” and “CKFM-DR-1, formerly CFMX-DR-1.” • In Appendix 2, the amounts allocated to the “Canadian Music Week – Canadian Radio Star Competition” have been revised to reflect the applicant’s commitments for years two through seven, and the total value of “Television tangible benefits – discretionary initiatives” has been corrected to read “$1,666,850 to be paid over seven consecutive broadcast years.” • In Appendix 3, the call letters of CKFM-FM and CKFM-DR-1 have been corrected as in Appendix 1, and the call letters of a radio station in Kelowna have been corrected to read “CILK-FM Kelowna.” As well, CKSL London has been added to the stations subject to the condition of licence related to the broadcast of Canadian musical selections from Category 2 released before 1 January 1981. 2. There are no changes to Appendix 4. 3.
