THE SAFETY BIT

ENJOY THE RACE, LEAVE NO TRACE!

No Littering on the run or the bike course.

Each athlete has their own space within the transition area, for their equipment. You are not permitted to ‘mark’ your space, and your equipment must not hinder other athletes as this will be considered as ‘unsporting impedance’.

Athletes need to wear their race numbers at all times during the bike/run section and they must be clearly visible (it needs to be displayed at the back for the bike ride and at the front for the run – a race belt is useful for this.)

You must wear your helmet at all times when cycling, which must be fastened prior to you touching your bike in transition and must be kept fastened until you re-rack your bike at the end of the bike ride.

You must follow the Highway Code at all times, including stopping at Red traffic lights when cycling.

DO NOT CROSS THE CENTRE LINE IN THE ROAD.

Our race officials, event volunteers, spectators and other competitors should be treated with respect and courtesy. Please comply with requests from the race official and event volunteers as it will probably benefit you. Abusive and aggressive behaviour and language will not be tolerated under any circumstances.

You are required to follow the course outlined in this race booklet and the race briefing. Not completing the specific course will result in you being disqualified. It is your responsibility to know the course for each element and the number of required laps.

The use of items such as mobile phones and MP3 players is prohibited during events, including in transition. Using headphones at any time during the race can lead to instant dis-qualification.

You must be courteous to other people within Total Fitness and on the bike and run courses.

Competitors who are publically nude at any point of the race risk disqualification. You cannot therefore get ‘completely changed’ in transition. Nudity also includes being topless during the run, or having front fastening tops unfastened.

If you wish to withdraw part way through the race, please inform a race marshal.

If you become ill or unwell, please notify a marshal immediately.

Finally . . . .

ENJOY THE EVENT!!!!
