Assemblyman William A. Barclay Senator Neil D. Lisa Fernéz, CFE, CISA, MCM is the Assistant Deputy Superintendent and Chief of NYSDFS' Life Bureau. Lisa's career with the New York State Department of Financial Services spans 27 years during which time she has held various leadership positions while being involved in overseeing the regulation of insurers in the life, health and property industries.

She was appointed to the Bureau Chief position in July 2015. In recent years she has dedicated a considerable amount of her time on legislative matters, developing protocols for Department initiatives, troubleshooting insurer financial solvency concerns, handling major corporate transactional filings, representing the Department on various NAIC working groups and subgroups, including those groups responsible for Accreditation initiatives, and engaging with industry executives and trade organizations.
