Kevin Bridges What’s The Story? – Referendum Special NEW Monday 15 September BBC One, 10.35pm – 11.35pm

As the referendum on Scottish Independence fast-approaches, Kevin Bridges takes to the road – and to the stage – to gather diverse views from the streets of Scotland. With a strict “no politicians” policy in place, Kevin’s mission is to speak to ordinary people across Scotland and beyond but also to help him make up his own mind about the one of the biggest decisions in Britain’s history. Kevin travels to Corby, Northamptonshire, home to a large Scottish ex-pat steelworker community. The Corby clan hold an annual Highland Games event and this year augmented it with their own Referendum vote. Kevin then meets up with his mum and dad in a local cafe to discover they’re divided, but united by the family sense of humour. In he meets members from the Scottish Youth Parliament. It’s the first election where citizens from the age of 16 can vote, in the most important ballot in Scottish history. Continuing further north, Kevin meets oil workers who work in an industry that’s become a major talking point. Kevin Bridges What’s The Story? – Referendum Special also features exclusive live stand up footage of Kevin filmed at Theatre Royal in Glasgow earlier this year.

TUESDAY 16 SEPTEMBER TELEVISION & RADIO HIGHLIGHTS / BBC WEEK 37 ______

River City Tuesday 16 September BBC One Scotland HD, 8.00 – 9.00pm

This week in Shieldinch…news of Raymond’s death sends shockwaves round Shieldinch; DI Donald’s investigation leads him to a suspicious Alan; and grief overwhelms Eileen and Stevie. Eileen’s world is shattered when DI Donald reveals Raymond’s dead. Suspecting suicide, DI Donald tells Eileen there are no suspicious circumstances but she refuses to accept he’d take his own life. After formally identifying Raymond’s body with Jimmy, Eileen goes to Raymond’s house and discovers the damming report highlighting chromium poisoning. Eileen gives DI Donald the evidence, urging him to investigate Raymond’s death. Jimmy breaks the news to a distraught Stevie who reveals Alan hassled Raymond the night before he died. However, when DI Donald questions him, Stevie’s guilt takes hold over not supporting his friend. Unable to face telling her son, Stuart, the sad news, Eileen asks Stevie and Stella to babysit. Stevie plays out his grief in a den he’s created for the wee boy and when Eileen arrives later, she chooses this sanctuary to break the heartbreaking news. Increasingly wary of one another, there’s disharmony in the ranks between Alex, Alan and Frank as they all try to distance themselves from any wrongdoing. Elsewhere, it’s the morning after the night before and Alan awakes from his drunken stupor with blood on his shirt. Admitting to Angus he was in a fight with Raymond, Alan asks his son to help cover-up any evidence. Later, at the police station, Alan’s innocence is called into question when he refuses to provide his alibi for the night, quickly making him a prime suspect.

Raymond is played by Paul Samson, DI Donald by Robin Laing, Alan by Stephen McCole, Eileen by Deirdre Davis, Stevie by Paul James Corrigan, Jimmy by Billy McElhaney, Stuart by Aidan Doyle- McPherson, Stella by Keira Lucchesi, Alex by Jordan Young, Frank by Paul Thomas Hickey and Angus by Scott Fletcher.
