The best of TV will be celebrated and brought to life in the first ever free public festival of its kind, conceived and produced by Sky TV. From Friday 11th to Sunday 13th August, the Sky Festival will light up Manchester. With more than 31 TV channels hosting over 36 specially created events, Sky Festival aims to enthrall and entertain people of all ages and interests with a massive range of activities in and around Manchester’s most famous landmarks. Offering something for all tastes and interests, festival-goers will be able to test their off spin at the Sky Sports Natwest Cricket Event, take to the catwalk and find out if they could be the Next Top Model with LIVINGtv, try their hand at reading the headlines with Sky News , watch breathtaking A1 motor cars roar through the streets of Manchester, journey through the jungle and the sea with National Geographic Channel, attend an exclusive MTV party, meet some of their favourite kids characters with Nickelodeon, get active with Sky’s Living for Sport and Dame Kelly Holmes or perfect their comic timing with Paramount Comedy’s stand-up comedy workshops. And with even more great events to entertain, involve and inspire the Sky Festival promises something for everyone in Manchester, the North West, and visitors from all over the country. What’s more it’s all free. Sky is working closely with the Manchester City Council, Greater Manchester Police and Manchester Transit Authority to ensure the Sky Festival runs smoothly, and works for Manchester.
