  • Hey Guys. and Welcome Back to Another Episode of the Ride. This Is Nicole
Hey guys. And welcome back to another episode of the ride. This is Nicole. And this is Jillian. And today we got to sit down and talk to Elaine Bogan, who is a director over at Dreamworks. And she is coming out with her first feature film called Spirit Untamed, which, um, you know, if you grew up in the early two thousands or you were raising kids, then, uh, you've probably seen the original spirit stallion of the Cimarron. I know that it was a fan favorite of mine when I was a kid. I remember going to the movie theaters and seeing it. And, um, but now they're coming out with a new movie and it is headed to theaters this week. So by the time this podcast comes out, it'll actually have been in theaters over the weekend. It came out June 4th. Um, but I was so excited that they came out with a new film. And, uh, you know, now my friend's kids who they're raising are, are getting to, you know, experience the same thing that I kind of did when I was a kid. And I got to go to the theater. And see, um, you know, spirit in, in the big screen. And so, uh, Jillian and I actually got to watch the film a little earlier. Um, and so Jillian, what did you think of the film loves it? I, I thought that the overall storyline of showing a girl and the bond with her horse and how impactful that can be was, was very well done.

The thesis may not be reproduced elsewhere without the permission of the Author. Investigation into the influence of yearling sale production parameters on the future career longevity and success of New Zealand thoroughbred race horses A thesis presented in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the Degree of Masters of Science in Agricultural Science (equine) at Massey University, Palmerston North, New Zealand Kristi Louise Waldron 2011 Abstract Few studies have investigated the influence of yearling sale production parameters on racing performance of Thoroughbred horses. The aim of this study was to quantify the impact of yearling sales parameters, in particular dam (mare) age at the time of conception, on future career success and longevity in a population of Thoroughbred racehorses in New Zealand. A retrospective cohort study was used to investigate racing success and longevity in a population of Thoroughbred horses in New Zealand, over eight and a half racing seasons. Retrospective records of the 2002 born Thoroughbred foals in New Zealand were obtained from the New Zealand Bloodstock (NZB) online database and the New Zealand Thoroughbred Racing (NZTR) database. Logistic regression models using the binary outcomes trial, race and prize money earned were analysed with exposure variables. Cox regression survival analysis was used to investigate the association between the number of race starts and the time to cessation of racing. Linear regression was preformed to assess the effect of exposure variables with the outcome measure prize money earned (ln, $NZ).

  • . . the Big Investment Part 2 This Month’S “Working Lines” Is Going to Take a Closer Look at the Sire Record of the Big Investment
The Working Lines By Larry Thornton . The Big Investment Part 2 This month’s “Working Lines” is going to take a closer look at the sire record of The Big Investment. Last month we saw that The Big Investment brought a new style to the modern pleasure horse. A style that was based on this wonderful conformation. This month we will look at what a bright future this sire had before his untimely death in 1986 at the age of six. Then we will look at one of the reasons why the influence of The Big Investment may continue through his offspring. The Big Investment sired only 129 foals with 93 of them being born in his 1986 and 1987 foal crops. He sired 74 AQHA performers with 66 point earners that have earned 63ROMs and 27 Superior Awards. This gives him an average of 89% point earners/ performers. This gives him 48.8% ROM from foals produced. He has an average of 56 points per performer. Here is an interesting side note on PHOTO BY PAMELA SNOW The Big Investment’s sire record.
