Arzhanova Senior Methodist of the Executive Office 157 Dear Colleagues, We offer to your attention the 35rd volume of the Informational Materials on the Eurasian Regional Association of Zoos and Aquariums, which includes two volumes. This publication has been prepared by the EARAZA Zoo Informational Center (ZIC) based on the results of the analysis of the data provided by zoological institutions of the region. The volume contains data on 120 collections of regional zoos and a separate section dedicated to significant zoo events, news and other activities that took place at the zoos, aquariums, breeding stations and other zoological organizations. The volume also contains the latest data on the zoological collections of the CIS states, as well as some zoos of the Baltic states, Israel, Poland, Slovakia, Czech Republic and Bundesrepublik Deutschland. To make the publication timely and useful, the member zoos are requested to keep to the deadline for submission of the materials to the EARAZA ZIC. We would like to remind you that the information on your zoological institution, taxonomic inventories of the collections (according to the taxonomy recognized by our issues and including scientific names), as well as the data on breeding of animals as of the 1st of January of the current year, should be sent before the 1st of February. Please note that the data from the institutions that have not submitted the required information by the deadline will not be included in the next volume. Also, please try to observe the deadline when sending logotypes and guidebooks of your zoos for the general information section, as well as the notes on the zoo news and articles on education and methodical activities. Please be aware that proposals for the Appendices "Surplus and Wanted List of Animals" should be sent to the EARAZA ZIC twice a year, with the data being shown as of the 1st of January and of the 1st of July of the current year. 158 We would like to draw your attention to the fact that some changes have been made in the categories of the Red Book (IUCN)(see the Appendix No 1). We hope that timely data submission and release of the "Informational Issue" and the Appendices correspond to your professional interests, and our fruitful cooperation will be successfully continued in the future. • Data Science for the One Plan Approach: Exploring the Potential of Species360 in Synergy with Other Biodiversity Databases
Data Science for the One Plan Approach: Exploring the potential of Species360 in synergy with other biodiversity databases CONVENORS: Dalia A. Conde, Jim Gunter & Lionel Jouvet AIM: The goal of this working group is to find the best ways to leverage data on more than 21 000 species from our members for conservation planning. INTRODUCTION: Data on species life history traits, such as fertility and reproduction are essential for conservation planning. However, the lack of such data for most of the described species is overwhelming. In this workshop we want to explore how can we maximize the use of Species360’s global data on more than 21 000 species, 10 million individuals, and 170 million medical and husbandry records. Species360 is a global, non-profit, organization dedicated to gathering, sharing, and standardizing information of the animals under more our members care. Data from Species360's members have been used to answer the different question in species life history and evolution (Tidere et al. 2016). Furthermore, there is example of the utilization of the data for species conservation planning. These range from estimating the potential of threatened species in zoos to act as insurance populations or as a source of information for species when there is no data (Conde et al. 2011). For example, we have been able to estimate opportunities and costs to protect species either in the wild and captivity by merging Species360 with other databases, such as World Bank social indicators, urbanization projections, and the IUCN Red List Projects to fight the illegal species trade are being developed by using more detail data from Species360 (Conde et al.

  • Odessa Economic and Social Development STRATEGY 2022 Odessa–2022
Odessa – 2022 Odessa Economic and Social Development STRATEGY 2022 Odessa–2022 Odessa Economic and Social Development STRATEGY 2022 Odessa – 2013 Dear Odessans! Odessa has the conditions required to become a competitive city and business centre of the Black Sea region comfortable for its citizens and attractive for tourists. However, the present world is characterised by fast changes and increasing global competition. Prosperity is not guaranteed by the past successes and favourable prerequisites in themselves: clear-cut and well thought-out policy is required. That is why the city authorities are actively carrying out strategic planning. The work on the Strategy of Odessa social and economic development commenced in spring 2011. Most important problems of the city have been analysed, the proposals prepared by the executive bodies of the Odessa City Council have been collected and generalised and other cities experience has been studied. In April 2012 the Concept of Strategic Development ODESSA-2022 was made public and used as the basis for Odessa Strategy of Economic and Social Development 2022. The Strategy has been developed by the Odessa National Economic University together with the executive bodies of the Odessa City Council on the basis of the materials prepared by 10 focus groups in accordance with the priority spheres of the city development. The focus groups comprise 250 persons: officers of the executive bodies of the Odessa City Council, experts, scientists and Deputies of the Odessa City Council. The proposals and projects received from the citizens have also been taken into consideration. With all my heart I thank all those who have taken part in the preparation of such an important document.
