Ed! Foundation - Make Your Donations Count!

We have a day for giving thanks; we have multiple days for getting deals. This Thanksgiving season don't forget #GivingTuesday, the one day dedicated to giving back!

On Tuesday, December 2 charities, families, and businesses around the world will come together to celebrate generosity. This year, we encourage you to give the gift that keeps on giving - your child's education!

The Ed! Foundation is a partnership between the El Segundo Community, generous local businesses, and concerned parents like you. Ed! helps ESUSD provide a premium education with programs like Music, the Biomed Pathway, Robotics, and Counseling, curricula no longer found in other districts.

For only $1 a day per child, you can help Ed! give the students of ESUSD the competitive education they deserve. Please invest in our students today at www.ESEdF.org. Get your donations in before the end of the year for your 2014 tax deductions!

Page 2 Message from the ESHS ASB

Dear Esteemed Members of the PTA,

Once again, we'd like to thank you for your generosity and dedication to El Segundo High School. Fall is quickly coming to an end, but we're keeping things exciting here at ESHS. Homecoming week and all of the festivities that go along with it were a huge success, filled with fun and lots of school spirit! We have had an exciting season with all of our fall athletics. With both football and boy's coming in first place in the Ocean League, along with girl's tennis and volleyball moving onto

CIF as well. Also, our lovely band is currently ranked 7 out of 70 in the state, and will be moving onto finals! There has been a tremendous amount of support this year at almost all sporting events and activities from the student body, and we're so happy to be spreading that Eagle Pride.

Furthermore, ESHS just had its first ever Eagle Pride Week! ASB was able to incorporate Eagle P.R.I.D.E. with Red Ribbon Week, and also hosted inspirational speaker, Mike Smith, for the second year in a row. It was a successful week filled with fun, kindness, positive attitudes, and of course, Eagle Pride! Check out www.mikesmithlive.com/theharbortv/ to see short videos that your children have been watching in their 2nd period classes. They're awesome!

This past month, ASB also put on the annual Club Fair, and this year we have a record number of over 60 clubs! The fair was a success with almost all clubs participating and many students eager to get involved. With the holiday season quickly approaching, we have many annual events coming up, like the Eagles Fight Hunger Canned Food Drive (on now), Toy Drive

(12/1-12/12), ASB's Senior Citizen's Tea (12/18), and many more! So far, we've had an eventful and exciting start the the

2014-2015 school year, and we can't wait to see what the upcoming winter has in store for us! Thank you for all the support along the way!

-Susana Kalish Junior Class ASB Representative

ESHS Fundraising Memo

Hello all –

Families have supported us through Ralphs, Shopping for Students, Escrip, and the Behind the Wheel Driving Program. Also, participation in the MOCK ACT, SAT, Princeton Review and Catalyst SAT Boot camps have helped generate donations.

Let’s continue this amazing momentum. If you haven’t yet signed up for the Ralphs Community Contributions Program, you can get signed up today! We have included the Scan Bar letter. Take the letter to any Ralphs and ask them to scan it for your school. If you did not re-register this past September, you need to re-register for your donations to count this year.

Please take a moment, check out the PTA fundraising page on the El Segundo High School website and dedicate your spring to selecting just one new activity to try! Your support of the PTA is making a world of difference for our kids and those who have dedicated their lives to educating them!
