Crosby Court Crosby Court is an impressive period Grade II listed house dating from the mid to late 18th century and 19th century. It is set in an elevated position with far-reaching views, in the centre of delightful gardens and grounds including extensive parkland and woodland. Constructed of brick under a slate roof the house has a number of impressive period features including fine principal reception rooms, elegant fireplaces, polished wooden floors, panelled doors and ornate carved cornices. The main entrance to the house is by the 19th century white brick elevation, through a central four panel door in a moulded stone architrave, under an oval window under a console-bracketed cornice. On the Georgian wing, the main elevation is of red brick, with ashlar dressings with a central half-glazed door and fanlight above with archivolt in a surround of Doric columns a frieze with paterae and open pediment. Comprising well-proportioned principal reception rooms, there are breath-taking views from the majority of the rooms. From the reception hall a door leads to the large drawing room, with its double aspect and bay window it is a very light room. On the opposite side of the reception hall is the kitchen/breakfast room, with central island and AGA. The staircase hall is double height with a stained glass roof light. Other principal rooms include the dining room, garden room, study and library. Further rooms on the ground floor include a second kitchen/utility room, maid’s kitchen and sitting room, playroom and stores. A door leads from the inner hall to the cellars, with boiler room, wine cellar and vaulted ceilinged storage rooms. The sweeping staircase leads to an open landing on the first floor and an inner landing, with two further staircases to the ground floor.
