Polyclonal Antibody to Sheep COX1 (PTGS1/-1) - Serum Alternate names: COX-1, COX1, Cyclooxygenase-1, PGH synthase 1, PGHS-1, PTGS1, G/H synthase 1, synthase 1, Prostaglandin-endoperoxide synthase 1 Catalog No.: BP051 Quantity: 1 ml Background: subunit I, COX1 (also designated COI, MTCO2 or oxidative phosphorylation (OxPhos) Complex IV, subunit I) is one of three mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) encoded subunits (MTCO1-3) of respiratory Complex IV. Cytochrome c oxidase is a hetero-oligomeric composed of 13 subunits localized to the mitochondrial inner membrane and is the terminal enzyme complex of the electron transport chain. Complex IV catalyzes the reduction of molecular oxygen to water. The energy released is used to transport protons across the mitochondrial inner membrane. The resulting electrochemical gradient is necessary for the synthesis of ATP. Complex IV contains 13 polypeptides; COX1, COX2 and COX3 (MTCO1-3) make up the catalytic core and are encoded by mtDNA while subunits IV, Va, Vb, VIa, VIb, VIc, VIIa, VIIb, VIIc and VIII are nuclear-encoded. Uniprot ID: P05979 NCBI: NP_001009476.1 GeneID: 443551 Host: Rabbit Immunogen: Purified COX-1 (PGHS-1) from sheep. Format: State: Liquid Serum containing 0.05% Sodium Azide as preservative. Applications: ELISA: 1/5K-1/20K. Western Blot: 1/50-1/200. Other applications not tested. Optimal dilutions are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user. Specificity: Reacts with PGHS-1 from sheep and most other mammalian species. Does not react with rat PGHS-1 or recombinant chicken PGHS-2. Minimal cross reactivity with PGHS-2. Species: Sheep. Other species not tested. Storage: Store the antibody undiluted at 2-8°C for one month or (in aliquots) at -20°C for longer. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Shelf life: one year from despatch.
