System requirements.

Minimum hardware requirements for Windows Vista Business and Office Small Business 2007 include:

A Windows Vista Capable PC, including at least:

• A modern processor (at least 800 MHz).

• 512 MB of system memory.

• A graphics processor that is Microsoft DirectX® 9.0 capable.

Windows Vista Premium Ready PCs.

To provide an even better Windows Vista experience, including the user experience, market a Windows Vista Capable PC that is designated Premium Ready or offer a PC that meets or exceeds the Premium Ready requirements described in the next paragraph. Features available in specific editions of Windows Vista, such as the ability to watch and record live TV, may require additional hardware.

A Windows Vista Capable PC, including at least:

• 1 GHz 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x64) processor.

• 1 GB of system memory.

• A graphics processor that runs Windows Aero.

• 128 MB of graphics memory.

• 40 GB of hard drive capacity with 15 GB of free space.

• DVD-ROM drive.

• Audio output capability.

• Internet access capability.

Office Small Business 2007 (includes: Microsoft Office Word 2007, Office Excel® 2007, Office Outlook 2007 with Business Contact Manager and Office Publisher 2007).

• Operating system. Microsoft® Windows XP® Service Pack 2 (SP2) or later or (or higher) required.

• Computer and processor. 500 MHz processor or higher; 256 MB RAM or higher; DVD drive; 1 GHz and 512 MB of RAM or higher is required to run Office Outlook 2007 with Business Contact Manager.

• Hard disk. 2 GB necessary for install; a portion of this disk space will be freed after installation if the original download package is removed from the hard drive.

• Monitor resolution. Minimum 800 x 600; 1024 x 768 or higher recommended.

• Internet connection. Broadband connection, 128 Kbps or greater, for download and activation of products.

• Additional components. Microsoft ® 6 with service packs, Microsoft Exchange Server 2000 or later required for Office Outlook 2007 users. To install Office Outlook 2007 with Business Contact Manager, you will need to first install Office Outlook 2007.

Small business PC buying options.

Here are suggestions for talking to your small business customers about how to get Windows Vista and Microsoft Office:

• If your small business customers are interested in new PCs, talk to them about getting the best value by having Windows Vista Business (or Windows Vista Ultimate) and Office Small Business 2007 (or Microsoft Office Professional 2007) preinstalled on a new computer.

• If your customers are looking to upgrade their existing PCs, first determine if those computers are Windows Vista Capable. If they need to upgrade five or more PCs, they should consider one of the Microsoft Volume Licensing options available for small business customers.
