Jagger Firkus, Denton Mateychuk, and Atley Calvert scored for the Warriors, while Peyton Krebs led the ICE with a goal and four points. Moose Jaw was 1-for-4 on the power play while Winnipeg was 3-for-3. Ripplinger named General Manager… The Moose Jaw Warriors Board of Directors has named Jason Ripplinger as the organizations new General Manager. Ripplinger joined the Warriors in July of 2017 as Assistant General Manager, previously, he had spent 17 years with the Vancouver Giants. During his time in Vancouver, he played an integral part in putting together the Giants teams who won five straight BC Division titles from 2005 to 2010, as well as the 2006 WHL Championship and the 2007 Memorial Cup. Opposition Preview… The Swift Current Broncos are 3-10-1 and coming off a 4-1 loss to Brandon on Wednesday. 20-year-old Michael Farren leads the Broncos with seven goals and 16 points, Mathew Ward has 13 assists and 16 points, and Aiden Bulych has 12 points. Subway WHL Hub vs. Swift Current… Today is the third meeting of the season between the Warriors and Broncos, Moose Jaw is 1-1 against Swift Current. Current Goalie Coach Mat Weninger will serve as the team’s Goaltending Coach, former Head Coach Mike Stothers will serve as an Assistant Coach, former General Manager Alan Millar is Hockey Canada’s Director of Player Personnel, and 2019 draft pick Corson Ceulemans was named to the roster. NHL Players to Watch… Ryder Korczak, Eric Alarie, and Cole Jordan were all of the named to NHL Central Scouting’s “Players to Watch” for January. Korczak was given an “A” rating, while Alarie and Jordan were given “C” ratings. Moose Jaw was one of six WHL teams to have three players appear on the list. 2020 WHL Bantam Draft… At the 2020 WHL Bantam Draft, the Warriors selected nine players, they drafted four forwards, four defenceman, and one goaltender. They selected five players from Saskatchewan, one from Manitoba, two from Albert, and one from British Columbia. They signed the top three picks from the draft, forward Brayden Yager (1st round), forward Ben Riche (2nd round), and goaltender Jackson Unger (3rd round).
