Red House Talent – Chris Hardwick, [email protected] Nick Schnebelen – Multiple Blues Music Award Winner Nick Schnebelen, Blues Music Award Winner has a new record, “Crazy All By Myself”, national release March 1, 2019, on VizzTone Label Group, produced by Grammy and Blues Music Award winner - Tony Braunagel (Taj Mahal, Robert Cray), and backed on this record by Taj Mahal’s Phantom Blues Band. A rising star & founding member of the award winning, popular blues group “Trampled Under Foot”, Nick is taking the world by storm with his high energy Rock n Blues. Nick tours North America, Europe, performing at festivals, venues, and as a fan favorite on the annual Legendary Blues Cruise. In 2008, as a member of Trampled Under Foot blues band, Nick received The Albert King Award for “Best Guitarist”. In 2014, Trampled Under Foot won the Blues Music Award for “Contemporary Blues Album of the Year”, by voting members of The Blues Foundation in Memphis, TN. The Nick Schnebelen “Crazy All By Myself Tour” is now in full swing for 2019, with opening dates for George Thorogood, extended tours for North America on the West Coast, Northeast, Midwest, Southeast USA & Europe. At the backbone of this power group is one of the best rhythm sections touring today; Cliff Moore -Electric bass (Michael Burkes) and Adam Hagerman -drums (Hadden Sayers, James Harmon, Smokin’ Joe Kubek), and recently now on Keys/Saxophone – Jay Davidson, supporting Nick who has built a reputation as a killer lead guitar player and impassioned vocalist. Longtime friend and famous keyboard player, Mike Finnigan (Taj Mahal, Jimi Hendrix. Etc.) will join Nick and band on West Coast dates in 2019. NICK SCHNEBELEN BIO – BIO DOWNLOAD https://www.nickschnebelenkc.com/bio/ LINK TO - “CRAZY ALL BY MYSELF “ RELEASED MARCH 1, 2019. https://lnk.to/crazyallbymyself?fbclid=IwAR3O-wHbwYYKNdnhwmYvorT-bnlR- yQANCrAgcl15NzW8uaPYQ5VfLPVY4w -PRESS- Nick Schnebelen - “Crazy All By Myself “ – Vizztone Label Group Crazy All By Myself makes for an uncompromising hour of massive, blues-based grooves. Schnebelen presents two contrasting but well-blended images of himself. For “It Ain’t Me,” he snarls out the lyrics, pulling hard on his guitar while riding the band’s fat bottom, anchored here by the bass of the great Reggie McBride. The funky soul of it brings to mind Doyle Bramhall II and his work in the Arc Angels. But when the rockabilly-driven “Ain’t Got Time for The Blues” hits the bricks, the stylishness of early Tommy Castro gleams, coinciding with the chic photo on the album’s cover. Elmore Magazine, Tom Clarke http://www.elmoremagazine.com/2019/03/reviews/albums/nick-schnebelen-crazy-all-by-myself March 1 - New Release - “Crazy All By Myself “ “Nick Schnebelen has been responsible for great music his entire life, As such, we’d expect nothing less on his solo debut, “Crazy All By Myself,” which solidifies him as one of the premier artists in all of contemporary blues!” Sheryl and Don Crow, The Nashville Blues And Roots Alliance. http://donandsherylsbluesblog.wordpress.com Nick Schnebelen - Crazy All By Myself - Vizztone Label Group “Schnebelen once again teamed with Tony Braunagel. The studio band includes Schnebelen, guitar and vocals; Braunagel, drums; Mike Finnigan, organ and piano; and Hutch Hutchinson, bass. Eight of the thirteen tracks are co-written by Schnebelen with some of our best songwriters. This studio recording should establish Schnebelen as a creative force; as a songwriter, guitarist and vocalist.” Making A Scene!, Richard Ludmerer NICK SCHNEBELEN - Crazy All By Myself – Vizztone Label Group NICK SCHNEBELEN/Crazy All By Myself: After grabbing a slew of blues awards, hitting it out of the park with his sibs out of the box and making waves with a pair of live albums, now he’s ready to really up the ante. Kicking it out with the A team of white boys with the blues, he serves up hard driving bluesed up rock in a most futuristic but authentic way. This is the stuff and all your faves are in effect rounding out the sound helping him take it to the next level of the game. A real killer throughout. – Midwest Records, Chris Spector Nick Schnebelen “Crazy All By Myself”, Vizztone Label Group “ Not crazy but masterful!... On 'Crazy All By Myself', the new studio album by Nick Schnebelen, versatility is the key factor. As everyone is aware by now, it is business most unusual these days, and that affects Charlotte Blues Society as well as the businesses we support with live music. CBS has been taking the cues from City, State and Federal officials regarding our events and gatherings throughout the novel coronavirus / COVID-91 pandemic. The Stay at Home order by the County has indeed affected upcoming events, and we hope every one of our members and fellow music lovers will take this advice to heart and follow it, in order that this virus be allowed to run its course with the least transmission and loss of life. We love each of you and want you to take care of your health, and stay safe: “Stay Home” This is serious stuff friends. You know when The Stones start cancelling dates we are looking at something that is epic. The Blues Music Awards in Memphis are cancelled. Live concerts throughout the Carolinas and the world have come to a halt. This is not the flu. This is not a cold. This is a moment in time that we must take action, or perhaps ,more clearly: non- action.

  • Describe Legendary Musician Taj Mahal in a Single Word Or Phrase? Impossible
Describe legendary musician Taj Mahal in a single word or phrase? Impossible. You could call him a singer, multi‐instrumentalist, composer, producer, ethnomusicologist, two‐ time Grammy‐winner, world‐class musical collaborator, musicians' advocate, world traveler, fisherman, or cigar aficionado. These titles are all accurate, yet none convey the warmth, humor, and soulfulness of Taj and his music. Taj has been playing his own distinctive brand of music ‐‐ variously described as Afro‐Caribbean blues, folk‐world‐blues, hula blues, folk‐funk, and a host of other hyphenations ‐‐ for more than 40 years. Caribbean, Hawaiian, African, Latin, and Cuban sounds and rhythms mix with folk, jazz, zydeco, gospel, rock, pop, soul, and R&B, all layered on top of a solid country blues foundation. What ties it all together is Taj's abiding interest in musical discovery, particularly in tracing many American musical forms back to their roots in Africa and Europe. Following his passion, Taj has spent time in the Caribbean, West Africa, Hawaii, Europe, the South Pacific, Australia, South America, and all over the continental U.S. His music reflects his global perspective, incorporating sounds from everywhere he's lived and traveled. A self‐taught musician, Taj plays more than 20 instruments, including the National Steel and Dobro guitars. His remarkable voice ranges from gruff and gravelly to smooth and sultry. Roots "The blues is a tone that puts me in contact with a lot of things, culturally, spiritually, cosmically. I really enjoy it, and I'm not going to let it go, because it's that good." Taj Mahal Born Henry St.

LaBudde Department of Special Collections NOT TO BE USED FOR PUBLICATION BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH Evalyn “Evie” Smith Quarles was born to Birdie and Pete Smith of West Tennessee. The first five years of her life were spent in a one-room grocery store owned by her father. The family lived in four rooms in the back of the store until 1946 when her father sold the store and moved to Halls, Tennessee, so that Evie could attend first grade. Although the school did not have an art program Evie knew by the fourth grade that she wanted to be an artist, so when she graduated from high school she attended the University of Tennessee in Knoxville and graduated in 1962 with a BS in Education and a major in Art. Knowing that she did not want to become a teacher, she enrolled at the Memphis Academy of Arts in the Fall of 1962. In the Spring of 1964 a recruiter from Hallmark Cards came to the school to interview anyone who was interested. Knowing she was on the road to becoming a professional student, Evie decided to sign up. Two months later she was in Kansas City, Missouri, designing greeting cards for Hallmark.
