Memory A. Wright Scholarship Application 2020

Purpose:

In accordance with the aims of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., Epsilon Upsilon Lambda Chapter has established this scholarship for an African American Male high school senior who aspires to obtain an undergraduate degree. The purpose of this scholarship is to financially assist the student in their pursuit of post-secondary academic goals.

Eligibility:

 African American male  Must be a US citizen  Flint area resident  2.5 GPA or higher

*The scholarship does NOT restrict the student’s choice of school or academic pursuit

Amount:

 $2,000 over 4 years ($500/yr.)

This scholarship is intended to cover tuition, fees, course related expenses, books, supplies, and equipment. Proof of college enrollment and satisfactory progress must be presented each academic year before the ensuing award is issued.

Selection Procedure:

A committee consisting of members from the Epsilon Upsilon Lambda Chapter will select the winner based on the following:

 Essay  Academic record  Extra-curricular activities  Letters of recommendation

Application Procedure:

An application packet must consist of the following to be considered complete:

 Student application form  Official high school transcript  Two letters of recommendation  Two copies of applicant’s essay response  Copy of standardized test scores (ACT/SAT) Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc.
