Application for Epsilon Honor Society

General Instruction

The Honors Committee accepts applications twice a year for elections to the following honor societies: (AX), Delta Epsilon Sigma (DES), and (KGP). Only undergraduate students are eligible to apply. If you are applying to more than one Honor Society, you will need to submit one application packet per Honor Society. For example, if you apply to both DES and KGP, you will need to submit two different application packets - one packet to be delivered to DES faculty moderator and the other packet to be delivered to KGP faculty moderator.

Application forms and Leadership and Service Activities Verification Forms may be obtained from the following sources:

Delta Epsilon application packet must include the following items:

Deadline The application packet must be delivered to the office of the moderator of the honor society to which you are applying by 5:00 P.M. on November 1 for December graduation and March 1 for May graduation. See below for mailing and contact information.

Format of submission One hard copy and one electronic copy (in PDF format) must be received by the above deadline.

Examples of acceptable service activities include: 1) membership and participation in projects sponsored by student organizations related to student governing, international students, Greek life, professional students, the Buccaneer and WBRY; 2) individual service opportunities accessed through organizations such as Campus Ministry, Volunteer Center, Learning Center, and student orientation; 3) remunerated positions such as resident/peer/health advisor and Ambassadors’ Club; 4) student-athlete; 5) participation in off-campus service organizations such as church or community groups; and 6) one-time service opportunities such as Walk-a-thons, Habitat for Humanity, Camillus House, Haunted House and Trick-or-Treat. For each individual event (.g. charity walk-a-thon, Habitat for Humanity, etc.), note the date of the event in which you participated. Include significant special events even if you participated as a member of a group for which you are also claiming credit. You may supply additional relevant information on the reverse of this sheet. Please note that incomplete forms will negatively affect the Honors Committee’s ability to evaluate your eligibility for DES. A one-page narrative description of your service activities to further support your application is optional.
