Flutzes and Waxels: A Podcast

A Figure skating podcast hosted by two Canuck sisters, breaking down the events in figure skating every week.

We offer coverage of every major event in figure skating, from the Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating to the !

We recap all four disciplines in figure skating in the week following each event. While we love talking about everyone, we have a special passion for ice dance, breaking down the nitty-gritty details of the differences between the good and the great.

There’s simply too much to discuss in just one episode per week, so we release anywhere from 2-4 episodes per event each week to keep skating fans up-to-date on the goings-on in the skating world.

We don’t dissapear during the off-season either. We start by recapping the best programs of the season, then cover any fun or interesting topics that come up all summer long, including the ISU congress and the yearly updates to the .

Reviews

“They go in depth into every major competitor for all four disciplines, they explain what happened technically for each skater, and the hosts have a deep knowledge of the sport. Everything is explained clearly, and you can tell how much the two of them love the sport.” - Zaque (United States)

“I am fairly new to figure skating and find your podcasts to be very knowledgeable and helpful, especially when it comes to scoring. My drive to and from work has now become far less boring and I am always eager to get back home and watch the skates you have discussed.” - tlwill19 (United States)

“A terrific in-depth podcast covering contemporary figure skating. Both the commentators are very knowledgeable about the technical aspects of the sport, and there’s no real nationalistic component to their commentary — which is perhaps rarer than it should be.” - Sean Curley (Canada)

“The hosts are also very fair in discussing the skaters and some of the more subjective aspects of skating. Keep up the good work, ladies! Your podcast is the best one out there!” - syddykat (United States) Listener Stats
