RAW DATA

l. There are no data for the partidos of Antofagasta de le Sierra (Catamarca), Chimbas (San Juan) or Zonda (San Juan) since they are not mentioned in the election returns. 2. It might be appropriate to add the election results for the partidos of Desaroparado and Concepcidn to thos.e of Capital (San Juan); there are no census data for Desamparado and Conception, which were apparently incorporated into the Capital before the taking of the census. 3. Partidos which are not listed in the industrial census (deck 5, cols. 22-57) have been assigned zeroes for the relevant categories; instead of using the missing data code, that is, I have assumed that such partidos had no indus trial activity. 4. Industrial data for some partidos are, in the census report, "included"* in the totals for other partidos. In the province of Buenos Aires, industrial figures for General Conesa are "included''f.in the totals for Zarate; in Jujuy, Rinconada and Santa Catalina are included in Yavi; in La Rioja, General Lamadrid, Pelagio B., Luna, and Independencia are all included in Velez Sarsfield; in Saltd, Caldera, Guachipas, La Poma, and "Santa Rosa de los Pastosu (= Iruya?) are in cluded in Los Andes; in Santiago del Estero, Bartclom~ Mitre is included in Vein tiocho de Marzo. For the "included" partidos I have used the missing data code, though it would appear that their industrial activities are so minimal as to justify the use of zeroes as well. s. Since there are no figures on "land tenure" for the Capital Federal (cards 4-5), missing data codes have been used.
