Information with respect to the Gram Nyayalaya, Pampady under Section 4(1)(b) of the Right to information Act, 2005

1. Organisation, functions and duties

Grama Nyayalaya, Pampady at Pallickathodu come under the jurisdiction of the Pampady Block Panchayath which constitutes the Gram Panchayath, Gram Panchayath, Manacadu Gram Panchayath, Meenadom Gram Panchayath, Pallickathodu Grama Panchayath and Pampady Gram Panchayath. The Gram Nyayalaya, Pampady commenced its function on the F.N of 23.07.2016. The judicial work of its notified jurisdictional areas of both Civil and Criminal in nature. It is a subordinate Court of Both District Court and Chief Judicial Magistrate Court. The court is presided by the Nyayadhikari as per Gram Nyayalaya Act, 2008.

Staff members are appointed provisionally on deputation basis for the period of one year from Civil and Criminal wing of Judicial Department. The staff of this establishment consists of one Secretary, one Confidential Assistant, three Clerks, one Amin, two Process Servers, two Office Attendants one Driver and one Part Time Sweeper.

The functions and duties of this court is primarily based on the administration of justice in its notified jurisdictional areas.

2. The powers and duties of officers and employees

This court exercises its jurisdiction both on original side of civil matters as well as the trial side in criminal matters as per Grama Nyayalaya Act. It is the duty of this court to receive and dispose of the cases and matters pertaining to the administration of justice. In the administrative side, that are as prescribed in the manual of office procedure, various Rule of Practices, Service Rules etc.

3. The procedure followed in the decision making process, including channels of supervision and accountability

In the judicial side, proceedings are channeled through Secretary → Court Fees/Inward Section Clerk → Bench Clerk → Judicial Officer. In the administrative side, files are channeled through Clerks/Secretary → Judicial Officer.

4. The norms set for the discharge of functions

The functions of this court is discharged in accordance with the various rules and regulations constituted for the purpose. Issues are dealt with on priority basis, expeditiously taking in to account, the various instructions issued from superior courts from time to time.

10. Monthly remuneration received by Officers and employees

The monthly remuneration is likely to change depending on the grant of increments and variation in the dearness allowance sanctioned by the Government from time to time. The sanctioned strength and pay scales of the officers and employees of this establishment are furnished at Annexure-A.

No subsidy programmes are executed by this establishment and no amount has been allocated for the same.
