HOTELS: Ramada Plaza Hotel 5* Itinerary HOTELS: Ramada Plaza Hotel 5* Itinerary: 27 June 2020 - Day 1: Transfer from Trabzon airport to Ramada Trabzon Hotel Tour Program: After breakfast, you will be picked up from Istanbul Intercontinental Hotel to Istanbul airport to board your flight to Trabzon. In Trabzon you will be transferred to Trabzon Hotel for check-in processes and free time in Trabzon. 28 June 2020 - Day 2: Trabzon City Tour Duration : Nights Includes : Transport, Guide, Lunch, Dinner Tour Program : After breakfast you will be picked up from the hotel and you will visit to Hagia Sophia Museum. Hagia Sophia is a museum, formerly Greek Orthodox church which was converted into a mosque in 1584, and located in Trabzon, in the north-eastern part of Turkey. It dates back to the thirteenth century when Trabzon was the capital of the Empire of Trebizond. It is located near the seashore and two miles west of the medieval town's limits. It is one of a few dozen Byzantine sites still extant in the area. It has been described as being "regarded as one of the finest examples of Byzantine architecture. Then you will visit Ataturk Pavilion is ornate early-20th-century summer pavilion was built by a Greek banker who was forced to leave Turkey during the 1923 population exchange with Greece. The pavilion was then gifted to the first president of the Republic of Turkey, the revered Atatürk. The home now contains a museum of his belongings and photographs as well as the furniture he used for a total of five nights during his visits to Trabzon in 1924, 1930 and 1937. Afterwards you will visit the Ecopark and Botanical park. You will finish your tour with a boat tour. 29 June 2020 - Day 3: Tour To Uzungol Includes : Transport, Guide, Lunch, Dinner After breakfast you will be picked up from the hotel and you will visit the tea factory and organic house on the way to Uzungol. Then you will stop by the horse farm. After visiting the farm you will see waterfalls in Uzungol. Afterwards, you will climb up to the viewing terrace in Uzungol and see the magnificent views. After completing your tour you will attend the live music night we have prepared for you. 30 June 2020 - Day 4: Tour to Ayder Includes : Transport, Guide, Lunch, Dinner Tour Program : After breakfast you will be picked up from your hotel to the full day Ayder tour. On the way to Ayder you will see how fabrics are woven in traditional looms. Then you will drive to Fırtına Valley. You will drink tea or coffee by the river and try zipline on Fırtına. After the most exciting activity-Rafting (highly recommended) which takes nearly 2 hours we will try some local food in restaurant in the region. After lunch, you will visit waterfall in Ayder. 1 July 2020 - Day 5: Tour to Sumela Monastery, Zigana Mountain, Hamsikoy Duration : Full day Includes : Transport, Guide, Lunch, Dinner Tour Program : After breakfast pick up from your hotel in Trabzon. First, you will visit Sumela which is a spectacular rock-hewn monastery. We will see monastery from outside. It is under restoration. Then, we will drive to Zigana Mountain which offers magnificent view. After that, you will continue to Gumushane to visit Hamsikoy, passing through Zigana, where we will taste the rice-pudding, drink tea at rural coffeehouse and trekking. Then you will go up to the glass viewing terrace and the views will fascinate you. 2 July 2020 - Day 6: Tour To Çal Cave, Hıdırnebi Highland Duration : Full day Includes : Transport, Guide, Lunch, Dinner Tour Program : After the breakfast you drive to Çal Cave. Çal Cave, also known as the second longest cave in the world, is one of the important tourism centers of Trabzon. Right after our arrival, we spend our time wandering in the unique structure of the cave. After our visit to Çaş Cave, we arrive in Hıdırnebi Highland, which is 1600 meters above sea level and which includes thousands of tones of green. After breathing the clean air of Hıdırnebi Highland, whose nature will amaze you, you have lunch at the restaurants. After our lunch, we give free time to our guests for sightseeing. After completing your tour you will participate in the night entertainment program we have prepared for you. 3 July 2020 - Day 7: Tour to Giresun Castle – Besikduzu Cable Car Duration : Full day Includes : Transport, Guide, Lunch, Dinner Tour Program : After breakfast you will be picked up from the hotel and you are on our way to Giresun Castle. Then we reach Giresun Castle look around and we eat our lunch with the view of city. Afterwards we will take the Besikduzu cable car. The Besikduzu Cable Car, the longest cable car run in the region, offers unique and serene scenic views to its passengers, allowing them to appreciate the creations of Mother Nature. After completing the cable car trip, we give free time to our guests for sightseeing. 4 July 2020 – Day 8: Trabzon airport to Istanbul International airport You will be picked from the hotel in Trabzon to be transferred to the airport to board your flight to Istanbul. .

    STORY OF A BERM TYPE REVETMENT DESIGN ORDU GİRESUN AIRPORT, THE FIRST SEA FILL AIRPORT OF TURKEY Mustafa Esen1, Işıkhan Güler2, Hülya Karakuş Cihan3 and Erdinç Söğüt4 Ordu Giresun Airport is the first airport of Turkey that is completely built on a sea fill area situated at the Black sea coast of Turkey and at equal distances to Ordu and Giresun cities. The reclamation covers 1.6 million m2 area that is surrounded with a total of 8.6 km revetment. The longest part of the revetment which is in parallel with the shoreline and at the offshore side of the reclamation area, is planned as a berm type revetment. In this sense, the preliminary cross section provided at the tender stage is checked, modifications are performed considering several criteria such as economics, performance, availability of rocks, etc. In addition to the design stages, several cross sections together with the suggested modifications are checked with laboratory tests. This paper covers the design stages where this criteria is taken into account, laboratory tests and the performance of the cross section during construction stages. Keywords: berm type revetment; sea fill; wave overtopping INTRODUCTION Ordu Giresun Airport is the first airport that is built on reclamation coastal area. The project site is located at the Black Sea coast of Turkey (Figure 1). A closer look at the site with an emphasis on general layout of the reclamation area is provided in Figure 2. It should be noted that the reclamation stages were not finished when the satellite image wass taken. Thus, it looks as if some ponds were left unfilled in the general layout.
