With the longest head coaching tenure at Wright State, Davis has seen the women's athletic program grow from its inaugural stages to its move to Division I in 1987. Davis began her career at Wright State in 1976 as softball coach, a position she held through the 1983 season. Later that year, basketball duties were added, and she became the second women's basketball coach in Wright State's history. Davis coached the basketball and softball teams on a part-time basis before signing on full time at the start of the 1978-79 season. After having endured two losing marks and a .500 year in her first three seasons, Davis has reeled off winning records in eight of the last nine seasons.
