Following a preview sailing from May 30 – June 2, Norwegian Bliss, the third ship in the most successful class in the line's history, will commence her inaugural summer season with cruises to Alaska including calls in Ketchikan, Skagway, Juneau and Victoria, British Colombia beginning June 2. She will join Norwegian Jewel and Norwegian Pearl as the youngest fleet ever to cruise to Alaska. Norwegian Bliss was welcomed to her summer home with a sky-high water-canon salute by the Seattle Fire Department, as she cruised into Port of Seattle. The recently renovated and expanded Bell Street Cruise Terminal at Pier 66, a public-private investment between Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings and the Port of Seattle, received the 168,000-gross-ton ship with a capacity of 4,004, double occupancy, early this morning. The enhanced terminal features three times the square footage, increasing the usage capacity by 300 percent, a dedicated lounge for suite guests and more guest-facing elements providing a seamless, comfortable and stylish ship-to-shore experience. "Norwegian Cruise Line has been cruising out of the Port of Seattle for eighteen years, and the public-private investment that made the enhancement of Bell Street Cruise Terminal at Pier 66 possible, demonstrates the commitment we have to the city of Seattle," said Frank Del Rio, president and chief executive officer of Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings.

    NORWEGIAN CRUISE LINE TAKES DELIVERY OF NORWEGIAN BLISS Norwegian’s newest ship debuts in Europe before commencing her inaugural tour around the U.S. and her official christening ceremony in Seattle, Washington BREMERHAVEN, GERMANY – April 19, 2018 – Today, Norwegian Cruise Line took delivery of the 167,800- gross-ton Norwegian Bliss, from MEYER WERFT during a ceremony in Bremerhaven, Germany, marking the conclusion of an 18-month building period. In attendance were executives from Norwegian Cruise Line, including Andy Stuart, president and chief executive officer, and Robin Lindsay, executive vice president of vessel operations, representatives from MEYER WERFT including Bernard and TimMeyer, managing partners of the German-based shipyard, the ship’s captain, hotel director and Vitalijs Smorodinovs of the Bahamas Maritime Authority, where Norwegian Bliss will be flagged. Later today, the ship will cruise to Southampton, England where she will begin her transatlantic journey on April 21. Norwegian Bliss will arrive to her first homeport at Pier 66 in Seattle, Washington on May 30, where the official christening ceremony will take place. (the “Company”) (NYSE: NCLH), a leading global cruise company which operates the Norwegian Cruise Line, Oceania Cruises and Regent Seven Seas Cruises brands, today announced additional voyages as part of its U.S. voyage resumption plan. Norwegian Cruise Line plans to set sail beginning summer 2021 with voyages from New York, Los Angeles, Port Canaveral and Miami and the line announced that its newest innovative ship, Norwegian Encore will debut in Alaska this summer in place of Norwegian Bliss. Experts and business insiders say a golden age for the cruise industry is coming with more Chinese people willing to pay for ocean views, onboard entertainment and exploration to lands nearby and distant. The number of trips by cruise ship travelers leaving from Chinese home ports reached nearly 4.3 million in 2016, nearly double that of a year ago. At the same time, Shanghai has become Asia's largest cruise port city, according to the 2016-2017 China Cruise Industry Development Report published on Friday. The annual report, often called the white paper of China's cruise industry, is jointly published by China Cruise & Yacht Industry Association under the direction of the National Development and Reform Commission, Asia Cruise Academy at Shanghai Maritime University and the China Ports& Harbors Association.
