For Immediate Release 31 March 2017 To: Assignment Editor / Editor of Local News and Education sections Appointment of Five New Council Members of Hang Seng Management College Hang Seng Management College (HSMC) announced the appointment of NYAW Mee- kau, CHEUNG Kong-ting Dannie, CHEUNG Wah-keung Jacky, William Junior Guilherme DOO and James S TSIEN as Members of the HSMC Council. The appointments will take effect from 6 March 2017 for a period of three years. Professor NYAW Mee-kau, Emeritus Professor and former Vice President of Lingnan University, is a senior university administrator and renowned scholar in business management. Previously he served as Chair Professor of Organisation and Management and Department Head in The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK). He is an Honorary Professor of Macao Polytechnic Institute. He has also been appointed Visiting Advisory Professor at several leading universities in the Chinese Mainland, including Nanjing University, South China University of Technology and Northeastern University. Professor Nyaw served as a Member of the Independent Discipline Review Panel for HSMC School of Business and the Independent Institutional Review Panel for HSMC, providing valuable advice to the College Management. Mr CHEUNG Kong-ting Dannie, an alumnus of Hang Seng School of Commerce (1984), is the CEO of China-Israel Consultant Company Limited and Israel China Education Technology Company Limited, an Independent Non-Executive Director of ETS Group Limited, the Director & Secretary-General of the Hong Kong Bar Bending & Fixing Industry Association Limited, and Deputy Director of Financial Professional Committee of Guangdong’s Association for Promotion of Cooperation between Guangdong, Hong Kong & Macao. He was employed as senior executive of a number of international financial institutions, including Bank of China (Hong Kong) Limited as Head of Commercial Division, Barclays Bank as Head of China Market, UBS Bank as Executive Director and Head of China Team, and Edmond De Rothschild Bank as Managing Director and Head of China Market. Mr Cheung has been actively supporting HSMC activities in recent years. He is currently working with the Executive Development Centre of HSMC in the delivery of executive courses. Dr CHEUNG Wah-keung Jacky, an alumnus of Hang Seng School of Commerce (1982), is the Chairman of Shinhint Group. He is also a renowned industrialist who was awarded the “Young Industrialist Awards of Hong Kong 2005” by the Federation of Hong Kong Industries in 2005, and the “Certificates of Merit in Directorship” by the Hong Kong Institutes of Directors in 2006. He is the Immediate Past President of Hong Kong Young Industrialist Council (HKYIC). Dr Cheung has been actively supporting HSMC activities in recent years. Among others, he served as a mentor in HSMC Student Mentorship Programme and was highly involved in student activities. Mr William Junior Guilherme DOO is the Deputy Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director of FSE Holdings Limited (“FSE”). He also sits on the boards of various companies under FSE and is the Executive Director of FSE Engineering Holdings Limited. He is also appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of Fung Seng Enterprises Holdings Limited, a company with its principal businesses of operating and investing in property and hotel development and providing property-related services in Hong Kong and the Mainland China. Since December 2005, Mr Doo has also been a Director of NWS Holdings Limited. Mr Doo has been a committee member of the Disciplinary Panel of The Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants and an adjudicator of The Immigration Tribunal. He is recently appointed as a Member of the Torture Claims Appeal Board. Mr Doo was qualified as a solicitor in Hong Kong and England and Wales in December 1999 and April 2000 respectively. Mr James S TSIEN, currently an Independent Non-Executive Director of the Bank of Shanghai (Hong Kong) Limited, was the Senior Adviser of Hutchison Port Holdings (HPH) Limited and the Group Executive Director of HPH and the Managing Director of Hutchison Ports China Limited. He was also a Director of Hong Kong Air Cargo Terminals Limited (Hactl) and the General Manager-Finance of the Hong Kong International Terminals Limited (HIT). Mr Tsien is an Adjunct Professor at HSMC and has been advising its School of Decision Sciences in developing its new MSc programme in Supply Chain Management. He is also an Honorary University Fellow of Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU) and an Honorary Professor at HKBU School of Business. He was also a Member of the Court of HKBU.
