 To Buffalo in 1827.  Worked as agent for Western Insurance Co.  1833 he and partners bought most of Grand Island.  Spent summers raising cattle on Grand Island on a 800-acre farm. Nationally known breeder.  Bought land in outskirts of Buffalo between Main and Hudson.  Allen Street named after Allen in 1888.  Married Margaret Cleveland, aunt of Grover Cleveland. 1800-1890 Buffalo Catholic Institute Public Library / Church of Scientology 836 Main St.
