At a minimum, the log might be expected to include the ordinarily included fields, and certainly would include the "subject ofrequest" field. The formatting is up to you but I ask that you include as many fields from the FOIA Log database as is practical, including any notes or other status or disposition information. However, I recognize that your FOIA Case Log may be nonstandard in format and I would appreciate any portions you can provide" Responsive to your request we are providing you with a copy ofthe Bureau of Indian Affairs 2006/2007 FOIA logs, which we are enclosing with the following exceptions, The names, allotment numbers, ofthe individuals have been deleted on each page, 1 through 160 ofthis material. The Department maintains that the individuals identified in the records have privacy interests in withholding this information. We do not perceive, nor have you enunciated, any public interest that would be served in disclosing this data, which would outweigh the privacy interests ofthe subject individuals. The release ofthe individuals' names, addresses, and social security numbers would be a violation oftheir privacy. Therefore, we are withholding this information under exemption 6 ofthe FOIA (5 U.S.C. § 552 (b)(6) which permits an agency to withhold "personnel and medical files and similar files the disclosure ofwhich would constitute a clearly unwarranted invasion ofpersonal privacy." The fee for processing ofthis request before taking your fee category into account, would have been $39.40. 160 pages ofduplication at $0.13 per page $20.80 2 hours ofprofessional search @ $9.30 per '14 hour $18.60 However, you are considered an "other-use" requester which entitles you to receive up to two hours offree search time and the first 100 pages ofduplication free. The remaining $7.80 charge is below the Departmental threshold for charging. Therefore, there is no chargeable fee for the processing ofthis request. This decision was made in consultation with John Jasper, in the Office ofthe Solicitor.
