    Hot 104.7 Announces Hot Summer 2019 Staring Wiz Khalifa, A Boogie & More! Scarborough, ME: This morning Hot 104.7 announced the lineup for their fifth annual Hot Summer show, Hot Summer 2019. The entire Hot 104.7 air staff announced the first four artists on the show, Wiz Khalifa, A Boogie, YK Osiris and Iyla with more to be announced. The show is in conjunction with Waterfront Concerts and is scheduled for Saturday August 31st at the Maine Savings Bank Pavilion at Rock Row in Westbrook. It’s a return to Maine for Wiz Khalifa who last performed in the state in 2011. Khalifa is a critically acclaimed multi-platinum selling, Grammy and Golden Globe nominated artist and performer. He has multiple #1 records including a career highlight, “See You Again” which was featured in the movie Furious 7 and spent ten weeks at the top of the Hot 100 chart. He has also won Best New Artist at the BET Awards and Top New Artist at the Billboard Awards. A Boogie (also known as A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie) is a New York based artist fresh off a #1 charting album for three consecutive weeks. The album “Hoodie Szn” features the #1 national radio single “Look Back At It”. Both Wiz Khalifa and A Boogie have been featured on the famed “Freshman List” curated by XXL Magazine. Previous Hot Summer performers have included Grammy winners, nominees and top selling artists like Post Malone, Khalid, French Montana, Fat Joe, Ty Dolla Sign, Fabolous, Big Boi from Outkast and more.

As the magical hour inches closer, the Migos rap star has unveiled the title of the project in a new teaser. According to the Instagram post, the album is titled Father Of 4 and arrives on Friday (February 22) at the stroke of midnight. Father Of 4 follows Quavo’s solo project Quavo Huncho and Takeoff’s The Last Rocket, which were both released last year. Offset has released one single from the project called “Red Room” along with a music video for the track. Though it’s undermined by its inertia and lack of focus, Offset’s solo debut offers glimpses of the rapper as a compelling storyteller and bluesman. Before Quavo was a huncho, he was a doubter. “How long you think we gonna last?” the Migos member asked a journalist in 2014. The question feels quaint in a world where politicians dab and Beyoncé raps about Pateks and Lamborghinis. But that lasting whiplash, that nagging proximity to life before fame, is the essential Migos experience. Their tagline, “YRN,” is a boast, a thanksgiving, and a punchline all at once: Young, wealthy, and black? In America? Shit, I’d have my doubts too.

Title: Visual Metaphors on Album Covers: An Analysis into Graphic Design’s Effectiveness at Conveying Music Genres. Abstract approved:_____________________________________________________ Ryann Reynolds-McIlnay The rise of digital streaming has largely impacted the way the average listener consumes music. Consequentially, while the role of album art has evolved to meet the changes in music technology, it is hard to measure the effect of digital streaming on modern album art. This research seeks to determine whether or not graphic design still plays a role in marketing information about the music, such as its genre, to the consumer. It does so through two studies: 1. A computer visual analysis that measures color dominance of an image, and 2. A mixed-design lab experiment with volunteer participants who attempt to assess the genre of a given album. Findings from the first study show that color scheme models created from album samples cannot be used to predict the genre of an album. Further findings from the second theory show that consumers pay a significant amount of attention to album covers, enough to be able to correctly assess the genre of an album most of the time.
