Secretary Thornburgh requested the reader to call the roll of the Senate from the certified list of members-elect as submitted by the Secretary of State and recorded in the preorgan- izational meeting of December 6, 2004. Forty members-elect were present. Secretary Thornburgh introduced the Honorable Kay McFarland, Chief Justice of the Kansas Supreme Court, who administered the Oath of Office to the newly elected senators.
