Each year the Resource Center provides family support services to over 1,500 families and training to over 1,200 child care providers, parents and human services workers touching the lives of nearly half a million children since 1990. We do this through home visits, child development education, links to community services, and adult education.

Prince George’s Child Resource Center’s programs change lives daily by ensuring that:

 Children have a secure bond with their parents and families;  Children grow up in homes free of abuse and neglect;  Families have access to high-quality child care;  Families have access to adequate housing, health care and nutrition; and  Children enter school ready to learn.

In a diverse county that is home to many single-parent and low-income families, struggling new immigrants and working families of all races, the Resource Center strives to meet their differing needs. A dedicated staff of 37 works to provide services through our office in Largo and family support center in Adelphi. Our community-based programs include:

1. Family support services that consist of family literacy and parenting classes, support groups, service coordination, home visiting and in-home intervention. Services are free and child care and transportation are provided. 2. Referral services for parents to find licensed child care as they transition from public assistance to work. 3. Continuing education for child care providers that covers a broad range of topics, such as fostering early literacy, supporting families and celebrating diversity. Training is engaging, affordable and convenient. BOARD OF DIRECTORS
