: Pelotas Basin 2D Multi-Client Seismic Data for 2017 License Round

Spectrum’s extensive library of Multi-

Legend Client seismic data offshore Brazil Pelotas 1 & 2 - 19,522 km includes 31,597 km of 2D seismic data Pelotas Reprocessing - 12,045 km Contract across the Pelotas basin, located off Round 14 blocks the southeast coast of Brazil.

Spectrum’s Pelotas 2D program, in association with Schlumberger, includes more than 19,500 km of newly acquired data and 12,000 km of recently reprocessed regional data.

There have been a total of eleven wells drilled in the Pelotas Basin, including two in and nine in Brazil. Three of these wells were drilled in water depths greater than 200 m, however, none have encountered commercial quantities of hydrocarbons.

There are extensive indications of a working petroleum system including oil seeps visible from satellite images and deep water Bottom Simulating Reflectors (BSRs).

On the conjugate margin to the Pelotas Basin, offshore Namibia, several deep water wells have encountered source rocks in the Mid-Cretaceous section.

Pelotas is the primary basin in this region, and its deep water area measures 1,300 km by 200 km. in association with Its unique location in the south-western

2.000 2.000 encompasses a geologic setting from the early Mesozoic. A rift basin province commenced3.000 125 3.000 ma, which led to the separation of the South American and African plates, followed by the progradational4.000 4.000 drift phase of the passive margin from the Mid-Cretaceous to the Tertiary which is still present today. 5.000 5.000

The current primary focus for exploration is further offshore,6.000 in the 6.000 slope and basin floor setting of the deep water region. The exploration plays in this area of focus are7.000 turbidite 7.000 slope channel systems, basin floor fans and low stand deposits. The source rocks for these reservoirs are thermally 8.000 8.000 mature lacustrine shales in the rifted grabens, and post-rift Mid-Cretaceous marine shales. 9.000 9.000 The second focus for exploration is outboard, within the Tertiary depo- centers of the Pelotas Basin.10.000 Structural 10.000 traps have developed within a gravity- driven complex along listric normal faults, and this complex continues11.000 as 11.000 toe-thrust structures further outboard in deeper water. Interpretations of 2D seismic data have led us12.000 to believe 12.000 that early Tertiary marine shales have been buried deep enough in this basinal setting to be the source for this play.
