The Wissembourg region has nearly 800 tourist beds, of which 50% are not classified and 20% are 3*. Compared to Northern Alsace, the availability of beds is quite small, especially in Hunspach.

In the village of Hunspach, the accommodations are restricted: 6 Bed & Breakfast rooms, 6 furnished “Gîtes de France” and 2 furnished appartment accommodations. This represents almost 60 tourist beds that are almost all situated in front of Heimlich House, in the Ungerer House. Run by an association, this accommodation provides a high-quality source of beds that caters to tourists looking for Alsatian tradition and quality care.

In brief, the available accomodations, while quaint and traditional, are lacking in innovation and modern amenities. Innovative project in 2019

Less than 10 km away from Hunspach is the Drachenbronn Military Air Base, already partially closed. The base is in the process of being transformed into an outdoor amusement center, slated for opening in 2019.

Notably, a wooden sphere play area will be installed. With a height of 40m, the sphere will offer more than 40 activity stations accessible to tourists of all ages.

This innovative project, a first of its kind in France, will add even more value to not only Northern Alsace but also to the neighboring German territory.

More than 250,000 visitors per year are expected. Heimlich House
