WORKING GROUP Claire Pattie Donna Guthrie Farrah Aftab Jean Eveleigh Katie Bilboa Manjit Marsha Hylton Martha Quigley Meredith Berman Shireen Chaudhry UPDATE During the past month, there have been fantastic project submissions in each of the Community Neighbourhood areas. The Community Assembly Working Groups have now assessed all stage one and two project applications and those that met the funding criteria have been put forward to the voting round which goes live on 16 July. Unfortunately, the number of applications that met the funding criteria was much less than anticipated. Therefore, the council has decided to revoke the split in funds which would have given £30k to resident projects and £70k to Voluntary, Community and Faith Sector (VCFS) partners. This means the whole amount of £100k will be allocated by your votes in a single voting round which combines all resident and VCFS projects. You as a resident will be assigned £100k to vote on the projects, which are most important to you. In neighbourhoods where there weren’t enough viable projects, the local Working Groups have gone through the initial ideas submitted by the community on the Newham co-create platform. They have developed those ideas which aligned with the chosen neighbourhood priorities into project proposals to ensure there are plenty of projects that people could choose from when submitting their vote. These projects, which will be delivered by the council if they receive enough votes and will be included in the voting phase along with the resident and VCFS projects.
