34 7 MG Car Club of South Australia April 2021 SECRETARY’S ANNUAL REPORT- MGCCSA by Berry Treffers PRESENTED TO THE ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING HELD ON TUESDAY, 9th MARCH 2020 I hereby present this sixty fifth (65th) Annual Secretary’s Report of THE MG CAR CLUB OF SA INC., covering January to December 2020. Still learning and, I thank the members for their patience in my getting to grips with the role and special thanks to Arthur Reudiger, Russell Garth, Bev Waters and oth- ers for their ongoing assistance. The role of Secretary for this club, is varied and at times can be all consuming, es- pecially as we had some challenges during 2020 never experienced before due to Covid 19. With all the restrictions and compliance Covid 19 forced upon the club, plus the new historic registration requirements made 2020 an interesting year and probably one we’d like to forget. As for new historic registration compliance. By now you all know the new requirements. Be a financial club member by Decem- ber 31 or don’t drive your car on historic registration. If caught fines can be expen- sive. Some statistics Our membership has reduced only slightly during the year due to the influx of new members. Current Membership, up to and including, 29 February 2021 stands at 833 financial members. with 76 unfinancial Members. To date it stands at 74 unfinancial and I assume that quite a few of the 74 current unfinancial members will not be renewing as they have had several reminders, so we anticipate approx. 842 financial mem- bers. This was 875 in 2020. The 2020 executive committee were:

To all the other volunteers who have freely given of their time to promote the activi- ties of our club during the year, I thank you also on behalf of the executive commit- tee and members. Without you our club would not operate as successfully as it does. In conclusion I remind you that clubs like the MG Car Club, rely solely on unpaid volunteers, who give their time for the benefit of all members. Without volunteers we could not operate or provide the level of service and compli- ance with statutory requirements that are necessary for the execution of the day to day duties involved in successfully running our club. We should be thankful that in the past twelve months we have been fortunate in having a team of volunteers to just this. On behalf of all club members I sincerely thank all these people, regardless of the level of their contribution during the year. Berry Treffers Secretary 9/3/21/ TREASURER’S ANNUAL REPORT - MGCCSA PRESENTED TO THE ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING HELD ON TUESDAY, 9th MARCH 2020 Another financial year has been completed. The Club’s books of account were forwarded to the Auditor for preparation of the 2020 financial statements. The Income and Expenditure Statement indicates that a loss of $16,121.40 was the result of the year’s financial activities. Now, before there is a call to sack the Treasurer due to this result, I will endeavor to provide an explanation of the result. Due to Covid 19 it has been a somewhat differ- ent year for the Club. Fortunately the Club’s income streams were not substantially affected. MEMBERSHIP FEES amounted to $70,053, an increase of approximately $4,000 when compared to the previous year. MAGAZINE ADVERTISING increased by $1,500 due to Newspot Motors and Ham- ilton MG taking out substantial advertising. BAR TRADING AND REGALIA SALES resulted in a loss of $596. This was due to the cancellation of two monthly meetings and restricted numbers allowed in the club- rooms. Bar sales were $2,000 less than last year. There was an improvement in the regalia result. Last year recorded a loss of $1,680. This year the loss was $311. This situation should improve with new stock and further promotion of this aspect of the Club’s activities. 10 31 MG Car Club of South Australia April 2021 EXPENDITURE lines which relate to most general activities are comparable to last MOTORSPORT NEWS year, however, I should comment on the following expenditures:

An effort has been made to enhance the Club’s data base and associated software. It is now possible to extract a wider range of information which has been requested by register secretaries for instance. It did involve a substantial alteration of, and additions to, the software at a cost of $4,159.

A major expenditure regarding clubroom maintenance was undertaken.
