Lounsbury Tree #34 Fall 2000 Page 1 of 16 The Lounsbury Tree Family Newsletter #34 Fall 2000 Jim Jurista - Editor Welcome! Wow! Fall is already gone and here I am pulling together the next issue of the Tree. To all of you who have written, again I say thank you for your contributions, your warmth, and your passion for our family. I am sorry that I can’t respond to each of you individually. This has been a very busy year for Aimee, Lydia, and me. As I wrote in the Spring issue, I’ve struck out on my own as an independent business and technology consultant. I’ve been living in New Brunswick, New Jersey during the week and returning home for weekends. This has made it exceedingly difficult to get personal and genealogical work done – including this newsletter – and we’ve decided that after this contract is over in April 2001 we’ll stay local to upstate New York no matter what. Lounsbury Tree #34 Fall 2000 Page 2 of 16 Lydia, our daughter, is now one and a half years old and a complete joy. She is walking, talking, and even starting to think the word “no” is very funny. She absolutely loves looking at family pictures; my guess is she’ll end up with Daddy’s genealogy bug eventually. For now we’re simply happy to have her as one of the leaves of the family tree! I can’t let the opportunity pass to say something about the American election. As I finish up this issue, Al Gore has conceded the presidential race to George W. Bush. Regardless of your politics, I’m sure you’ll agree with me that this was a messy, unfortunate way to put America’s leader into office. I fear that the repercussions will last for years. May both parties prove me wrong! I hope the holidays find everyone well and fully able to enjoy them. See you in the spring. Subscribing to The “L” Tree Subscriptions to the Tree are $4 for United States residents and $5 (in U.S. funds) for Canadians.
