He directed that 100 families should occupy each of these townships. These townships were referred to as “hundreds”, which became the judicial and legislative districts for the counties. Although they no longer serve in such capacity, they are still used by Delaware residents to delineate specific areas. Woodlands at St. Georges is a subdivision of the Red Lion Chase community, which consists of 289 single family homes with nearly 200 acres of open space preserved for our residents’ enjoyment. This community is bisected by the Dragon Run Creek, declared a pristine waterway by both State of Delaware and New Castle County. In addition to wise planning of open space, the latest conservation design principals were employed when considering the community’s impact on the local environment. Conveniently located, this community provides easy accessibility to major employment hubs such as Wilmington, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Dover, and South Jersey. With major shopping centers such as the Christiana Mall and Peoples Plaza located minutes away, shopping opportunities are abundant. Nearby historical sites and outstanding recreational facilities allow families to remain close to home while enjoying notable attractions such as Fort Delaware State Park, Lums Pond State Park, Dover Downs, Delcastle Recreation and Delaware Race Track. Woodlands at St. Georges is located on both sides of McCoy Road at its intersection with Kirkwood-St. Georges Rd. in the Red Lion Hundred, New Castle County, Delaware. It is conveniently located just off Delaware Route 1 and approximately four miles from Lums Pond State Park, on the north side of the Chesapeake and Delaware Canal. The C&D Canal and RT 1 Bridge can be viewed from the southeastern edge of the property. 1 SCHOOLS PAROCHIAL Salesianum School 1801 North Broom St Wilmington, DE 19802 302-654-2495 St. Andrews (Boarding) 350 Noxontown Rd Middletown, DE 19709 302-378-9511 Red Lion Christian Academy 1390 Red Lion Rd Bear, DE 19701 302-834-2526 PUBLIC HIGH SCHOOL Grades 9-12 ELEMENTARY DAY CARE/ Grades K-5 William Penn High School PRE-SCHOOL 713 East Basin Rd Kathleen Wilbur Kiddie Kare Day Care Center New Castle, DE 19720 Elementary School 1987 Pulaski Hwy 302-323-2800 4050 Wrangle Hill Rd Bear, DE 19701 - Bus service for 9-12th grade Bear, DE 19701 302-834-1514 - Red Lion Chase /Woodlands at St. 302-832-6330 Georges will not have public school The Learning Circle - Bus service for K-5 transportation until the development Child Care Center - Kindergarten is part-time and will is complete.
