5 Days 4 Nights Siem Reap & Phnom Penh Tours 659 619 749 569 699 5 Days 4 Nights Siem Reap & Phnom Penh Tours Day 1: Arrival Siem Reap (L, D) Arrival Siem Reap airport, welcome by our friendly guide and transfer to hotel for check-in. Visit the South Gate of Angkor Thom, the famous Bayon Temple – built by Jayavarman VII at the end of the 12th, in the exact center of the city of Angkor Thom, Bapoun and Terrace of Elephants. Then Thommanon and Chau Say Tevoda temples, that both of all give visitors an impression of how Angkor must have appeared when first recovered. Lunch at local restaurant. Afternoon, visit to Angkor Wat – one of the seven greatest architectural wonders of the world, built in between the 9th and 13th century, its general view are five ancient towers’ figure that embroidered or printed to the Kingdom of Cambodia’s Flag now, followed by visit to the Phnom Bakheng temple and view sunset from Phnom Bakheng. Dinner at local restaurant and overnight stay at hotel. Day 2: Full day in Siem Reap (B, L, D) After breakfast, Visit to Banteay Samre temple built by Suryavarman II and contains well-preserved relief depicting scenes of Vishnu and Krishna legends. Then visit Banteay Srei temple, built under Jayavarman V, as the jewel in the crown of classical Khmer arts. Its rose-coloured sandstone walls are decorated with carvings and bas-reliefs, which are among the most accomplished Angkor has to offer. Lunch at local restaurant. PM: Visit the remarkable temples: Ta Keo – the mountain temple with an imposing 5 tier pyramid that was one of the 1st Angkorian monuments built entirely in sandstone. Prasat Kravan temple with a composition of 5 bricks towers; Banteay Khdei & Sras Srong and Ta Prohm - a buddhist temple during 12th century, overgrown with jungle and admired by romantics for their dreamlike qualities. Dinner with Apsara Dance Show at local restaurant and overnight stay at hotel. Day 3: Full day in Siem Reap (B, L, D) Breakfast in hotel, Visit to Preah Khan, Neak Pean – It was built by Jayavarman and was used for rites of rituals purification, Ta Som, East Mebon and Pre Rup temples – Built by Rajendravarman. Composed of literate and brick, it is similar in style though on a much grandeur scale. Lunch at local restaurant. PM: Transfer to visit Artisans d'Angkor in Pouk at National Silk center which is 15Km from Seam Reap town and Return back to Siem Reap town for shopping visit at Old market. Dinner at local restaurant and overnight stay at hotel. Day 4: Siem Reap - Phnom Penh (B, L, D) Breakfast in hotel, transfer to Siem Reap airport for flight to PNH by morning flight. Arriving at Phnom Penh airport, meeting our friendly guide and transfer to hotel for check-in. Visit to Wat Phnom Daun Penh the name of a pagoda, was built by lady Daun Penh in 1372 on a little hill, Legend has it that after a particularly heavy flood, a wealthy Khmer woman named Daun Penh found a tree on the banks of the Mekong with four statues of Buddha hidden inside. Today Wat Phnom remains the highest artificial hill in Phnom Penh and the center of many forms of leisure activity. Then visit to Independence Monument which was constructed in 1954 after Cambodian took their country back from French colony. Lunch at local restaurant. PM: Visit to National Museum, the distinctive red building with a beautiful Khmer architecture was build since 1917 and contains more than 5000 art objects made of sandstone, bronze, silver, copper, wood and others. They are really the cultural treasure of Cambodian and the Royal Palace compound build in 1866 by King Norodom, is the most conspicuous feature and also one of impressive colorful Khmer-style Palaces. Nearside the Royal Palace is Silver Pagoda (The Emerald Buddha temple), display plenty of Buddha Statues that were decorated and made by diamond, emerald, gold and silver. Dinner at local restaurant and overnight stay at hotel. Day 5: Phnom Penh - Departure (B) Breakfast in hotel, free at leisure until transfer to airport for taking the international departure flight.     Chapter Four The Royal Roads of King Jayavarman VII and its Architectural Remains 4.1 King Jayavarman VII’s Royal Roads 4.1.1 General Information Jayavarman VII’s Royal Roads was believed (by many scholars) to be built in the era of Jayavarman VII who ruled Khmer empire between AD 1812 – 1218. The road network not only cover the area of the modern-day Cambodia but also the large areas of the present Laos, Thailand and Vietnam that were under the control of the empire as well. As demonstrated by Ooi Keat Gin in Southeast Asia: A Historical Encyclopeida from Angkor Wat to East Timor Volume Two; highways were built—straight, stone-paved roads running across hundreds of kilometers, raised above the flood level, with stone bridges across rivers and lined with rest houses every 15 kilometers. Parts of some roads are still visible, even serving as the bed for modern roads. From the capital city, Angkor, there were at least two roads to the east and two to the west. One of the latter ran across the Dangrek Mountains to Phimai and another went due west toward Sisophon, which means toward the only lowland pass from Cambodia into eastern Thailand in the direction of Lopburi or Ayutthaya. Toward the east, one road has been traced almost to the Mekong, and according to an inscription in which these roads are described, it may continue as far as the capital of Champa1 1 Ooi. (2004). This pagoda was once Khmer Rouge prison and killing site. 1 Edited by Elaine McKinnon 1 Introduction In collaboration with the Ministry and Provincial Department of Culture and Fine Arts, the Documentation Center of Cambodia’s Museum of Memory has installed and premiered three exhibitions entitled “The Forced Transfer: the Second Evacuation of People during the Khmer Rouge Regime.” The exhibitions were established in Tep Povong Pagoda in Siem Reap Province, as well as in the Svay Rieng and Kratie Provincial Departments of Culture and Fine Arts on December 5, 11 and 18, respectively. About 1,150 people from various walks of life attended the events, including civil parties, Cham Muslims and other villagers living in communities near the provinces, high school and university students and teachers, provincial pedagogy students, provincial officials and cultural department officials.     ISSN 2411-9571 (Print) European Journal of Economics September-December 2017 ISSN 2411-4073 (online) and Business Studies Volume 3, Issue 3 The Cross Thai-Cambodian Border’s Commerce Between 1863 -1953 from the View of French’s Documents Nathaporn Thaijongrak, Ph.D Lecturer of Department of History, Faculty of Social Sciences, Srinakharinwirot University Abstract The purpose of this research aims to study and collect data with detailed information of the cross Thai- Cambodian border’s commerce in the past from French’s documents and to provide information as a guideline for potential development of Thai-Cambodian Border Trade. The method used in this research is the qualitative research. The research instrument used historical methods by collecting information from primary and secondary sources, then to analysis process. The research discovered the pattern of trade between Cambodia and Siam that started to be affected when borders were established. Since Cambodia was under French’s rule as one of French’s nation, France tried to delimit and demarcate the boundary lines which divided the community that once cohabitated into a community under new nation state. In each area, traditions, rules and laws are different, but people lived along the border continued to bring their goods to exchange for their livings. This habit is still continuing, even the living communities are divided into different countries. For such reason, it was the source of "Border trade” in western concept. The Thai-Cambodian border’s trade during that period under the French protectorate of Cambodia was effected because of the rules and law which illustrated the sovereignty of the land.
