Sucre Electrònica Graham Daniels i Mark Vidler Anglaterra Els britànics del duo electrònic Addictive TV creen música amb una diferència, és música que es pot veure, per tant el públic tindrà una experiència audiovisual total, on es barregen elements de la cultura contemporània, des de pel•lícules de culte, icones del rock o fins i tot el món del futbol. Han actuat a més de 50 països com Brasil, Xina, EUA a més dels d’Europa o en l’Egipte de després de la revolució. Els espais d’actuació són tan diferents com el Centre Pompidou de París, la sala Razzmatazz o el festival Glastonbury del Regne Unit. Actualment treballen en el seu darrer projecte “Orchestra of Samples” amb imatges de músics d’arreu del món. Amatria Dissabte15 de setembre. 1.15 h. Jazz Cava Pop-rock Joni Antequera (veu), Gilberto Aubán (teclats i guitarres) i Pablo Ortuño (bateria). València El directe d'Amatria presenta les cançons del seu primer disc "Hoy van a salirte las alas" (2012) combinant la vessant més electrònica (samplers i sintetitzadors) amb les melodies pop creades amb guitarra i veu. Les seves actuacions son perfectes per fer pujar uns quants graus la pista de ball fins arribar a un estat de trivialitat feliç. Aquest no és el debut d’un nouvingut ja que els temes d’Amatria circulen des del 2009 per la xarxa, la seva maqueta fou considerada una de les millors per la revista Mondo Sonoro el 2009 i reconeguda a diversos concursos. Amb la presència al MMVV es confirmen totes les bones sensacions rebudes durant la primera gira de presentacions del disc a València, Barcelona, Saragossa i Madrid. 24è Mercat de Música Viva de Vic 2 www.mmvv.cat Antònia Font Divendres 14 de setembre. 21.00 h. Teatre Atlàntida Pop-rock Pau Debon (veu i guitarra), Joan Miquel Oliver (guitarrra i composició), Jaume Manresa (teclats), Joan Roca (baix) i Pere Manel Debon (bateria). Illes Balears Quan no feia ni un any de la publicació de “Lamparetes” (2011), inclòs per la crítica especialitzada en la pràctica totalitat de les llistes dels millors discs de l’any i, no per casualitat, el llançament amb més recorregut comercial de tota la seva trajectòria, Antònia Font va començar a treballar el nou projecte que estrenarà al MMVV. Després de dos mesos composant a jornada completa, el quintet mallorquí ha desenvolupat una bona quantitat d’idees que no hi caben dins el típic format de cançó pop de tres minuts, matèria primera d’un disc –encara sense títol definitiu i amb data d’edició prevista per finals de setembre– on es veuen reflectits una sèrie de conceptes musicals que, habitualment, es deixen de banda perquè excedeixen el cànon establert, allò que teòricament s’ha de fer. Un nou repte, personal com sempre i intransferible com mai, que d’alguna manera queda al marge de la trajectòria d’Antònia Font –o millor del que se suposa que és Antonia Font-, però a la vegada, per això, és definitivament la proposta més sincera de la seva carrera. Astrio Dissabte 15 de setembre. 00.30 h. Auditori Atlàntida Jazz-funk Santi Serratosa (bateria), Santi Careta (guitarra) i Arecio Smith (teclats i samplers). Catalunya Astrio és una capsa de sorpreses. Des de la seva formació, ara fa 10 anys, ha estat un grup en constant renovació. Qui hagi gaudit del privilegi de seguir la seva trajectòria haurà estat testimoni de la progressiva, silent, tossuda transformació de la seva música. "Don't Leave The Planet", el seu tercer i darrer treball, suposa un pas més en la constant evolució de la banda dins d'un estil propi. És aquesta versatilitat que els ha portat a tocar en espais tan diferents com festivals de jazz, d’electrònica, de rock, a discoteques o petits clubs, i a comptar amb un públic molt heterogeni. 24è Mercat de Música Viva de Vic 3 www.mmvv.cat Coetus & Eliseo Parra Dijous 13 de setembre. 23.00 h. Teatre Atlàntida Tradicional Eliseo Parra, Ana Rossi i Judit Nedermann (veu), Aleix Tobias, Martí Hosta, Dídac Ruiz i Bernat Torres (percussió i veu), Antonio Sánchez, Angelo Manhenzane, Acari Bertrán, Alberto Carreño, Anna Tobias, Marc Vila, Fran Lucas i Mariona del Carmen (percussió). Catalunya El projecte Coetus, creat el 2007, arriba a Vic per presentar el seu segon disc, "Entre Tierras". Aquesta orquestra de percussió ibèrica, formada per una dotzena de components, continua amb la seva aposta per unir tots aquells instruments de percussió que al llarg de la historia han servit per acompanyar danses, cançons o processons. El resultat és un llenguatge propi, inspirat en els ritmes tradicionals, creant un diàleg actiu entre tots aquests instruments, molts desconeguts, i la veu. Col·lectiu Brossa + Falsalarma Dijous 13 de setembre. 21.30 h. Teatre Atlàntida Altres Aleix Puig i Pere Bartolomé (violins), Imma Lluch (viola), Quico Pugès (violoncel), Gregori Ferrer (clavicèmbal), Jordi Domènech (contratenor) i Titó i Santo - M.C’s del grup Falsalarma /Hip-Hop/. Catalunya “Retaule d’avars” és la nova proposta del Brossa Quartet de Corda (BQC) en la qual interpreta cançons de creació al voltant del concepte de l’avarícia, un mosaic d’aquest “pecat capital” i els qui el practiquen. Per abordar-lo el BQC convida a l’escenari a dos perfils musicals ben diferents: el contratenor Jordi Domènech i els cantants de hip-hop del prestigiós grup Falsalarma. Ambdós estils de cant, posseïdors de destreses originals en l’art de comunicar a través de la veu, establiran una mena de tour de force artístic d’alt voltatge. 24è Mercat de Música Viva de Vic 4 www.mmvv.cat DJ Lord Sassafras Divendres 14 de setembre. 01.00 h i 02.15 h. Sucre Worldbeat Lord Sassafras (Jordi Gayoso) Lord Sassafras, sons assolellats de músiques del món. Amb aquest pseudònim porta Jordi Gayoso Borrell més de 30 anys treballant com a músic i visitant escenaris tant arreu d’Espanya com de diferents països europeus, africans i americans. Lord Sassafras defineix el seu estil com “Mafia Mondiale”, una barreja de sons assolellats de músiques del món amb sons occidentals i Global-Folk. Com a DJ ha actuat a països com Japó, Eslovènia, Bèlgica, Suïssa, Turquia, França, Itàlia, Costa de Marfil, Senegal, Xina o Brasil, entre altres, y a l’Estat espanyol a festivals com Pirineos Sur, Etno-Sur, La Mar de Músicas, Ortigueira, BAM, Etnival o Womex Sevilla. Immers en diferents projectes artístics, es fa càrrec des del 2001, juntament amb Fran del Castillo, de la programació musical del festival Actual de La Rioja. Dorian Dijous 13 de setembre. 1.00 h. Sucre Pop-rock Mark (veu, guitarra i programacions), Belly (piano, teclats i programacions, Bart (baix) i Ramon (bateria). Catalunya El grup de Barcelona va néixer amb la intenció de casar la tradició del rock en castellà amb els nous sons de la música electrònica. Amb tres discos al mercat s’han convertit amb una de les formacions més importants de la nova escena musical espanyola, aconseguint arribar a diferents generacions de públic. La fórmula: honestedat, gires llargues, bones lletres i una ingent habilitat per crear hits. A banda de recórrer l’Estat espanyol, han fet diverses gires per Europa, EUA, Canadà i Mèxic, país on compten amb un gran nombre de seguidors. Al MMVV faran ballar i cantar el públic amb fent un repàs de la seva música, especialment de “La ciudad subterránea”, àlbum àmpliament aclamat per la premsa especialitzada i generalista. 24è Mercat de Música Viva de Vic 5 www.mmvv.cat El Puchero del Hortelano Dissabte 15 de setembre. 21.30 h. Plaça Major Fusió/Mestissatge Antonio Arco Puerto (veu i guitarra acústica), Jose Pablo Fernández Jiménez (baix), Patricia Maria Ramos Lensen (guitarra acústica), Jose Antonio García Aguado (saxo) Jorge Cobo Jiménez (percussió) i Juan Carlos Camacho García (trompeta). Andalusia Més de 40.000 persones han gaudit del grup en la gira de presentació del seu darrer disc “El Tiempo de Manuel” omplint sales emblemàtiques de gran format com La Riviera a Madrid i Razzmatazz a Barcelona. Les seves cançons enganxen el públic, jugant a mig camí amb el rock, el pop i el flamenc, fent-los arribar a Xile, Argentina i França, on han participat en programes culturals com Sounds from Spain, representant la música que es fa a Espanya. Per al 2013 preparen nou disc i gira per Llatinoamèrica. Els Catarres Divendres 14 de setembre. 20.30 h. Plaça Major Pop Folk Èric Vergés (veu i guitarra), Jan Riera Prats (guitarra, acordió, pandereta i bombo), Roser Cruells (contrabaix), Malena Sampietro (percussió), Marc Ruescas (trombó) i Jaume Esteve (trompeta). Catalunya Després la gira d’estiu, Els Catarres tornen Osona, on sempre han estat molt ben acollits pel públic, per presentar nou repertori i fer un repàs del seu disc “Cançons 2011”. La formació creix incorporant tres nous músics, per potenciar el seu directe i fer-lo molt més ballable i festiu. 24è Mercat de Música Viva de Vic 6 www.mmvv.cat Erevan Tusk Divendres 14 de setembre. 22.15 h. Jazz Cava Dream Pop Alex ( bateria, cors), Jim (guitarra, veu), Nico (baix, cors), Pacôme (guitarra elèctrica, veu, teclats, ukelele), Pierre (guitarra elèctrica, cors) França Aquesta formació neix el 2008 fruit de l’amistat i l’admiració que sentien els seus membres per la música que feien amb altres bandes. Dos anys i algunes maquetes després, van ser finalistes del Paris Jeunes Talents i guardonats al festival Désin’VOLT, organitzat pels estudis SMOM que els van oferir la possibilitat de gravar el primer àlbum, “Fortify Your Innocence” (2011), farcit de melodies brillants i generoses.

Este no es el debut de un recién llegado ya que los temas de Amatria circulan des del 2009 por la red, su maqueta fue considerada una de las mejores por la revista Mondo Sonoro en 2009 y reconocida en diversos concursos. Con su presencia en el MMVV se confirman las buenas sensaciones recibidas durante la primera gira de presentaciones del disco en Valencia, Barcelona, Zaragoza y Madrid.

    BIOGRAPHY 2017 The seventh album by The Cribs is a bit of a paradox. It’s the quickest thing they’ve ever recorded, done and dusted in five days compared to a relatively leisurely seven for 2004’s self-titled debut, yet it’s also been six years in the making. It’s a release that’s going to surprise fans and it’s called – quite brilliantly – 24-7 Rock Star Shit. The album’s origins lie back in 2011, when the three Jarman brothers were making In The Belly Of The Brazen Bull. After recording the bulk of …Brazen Bull with producer Dave Fridmann at his isolated Tar- box Road Studio in upstate New York, they flew straight to Chicago’s Electrical Audio, home to another unique producer, the venerated Steve Albini, of Shellac and In Utero fame. There, over two cold November days, they stayed in the on-site dormitories, drank copious amounts of Albini’s trademark fluffy coffee and laid down four tracks for possible inclusion on …Brazen Bull, but which had such a spirit and sound of their own that they were laid aside for a rainy day. "We were really into the tracks, but they definitely had their own vibe - it didn't make sense to try and shoehorn them onto Brazen Bull" explains vocalist/bassist Gary Jarman. “Sometimes when we work with producers we’re pretty on their case, and that record was pretty involved” says drummer Ross Jarman. “With Steve we just took a step back and let him do his thing. We just wanted to get his raw power down on record.” When it came time for the next album, there was a plan to make two LPs to represent two distinct strands of their work: a pop record and a punk record, one polished and melodic, the other raw and un- derworked.

Featured Review: Collective Soul - Afterwords With Youth, their previous album issued in 2004, the group from Georgia Collective Soul brought us in a world we didn’t know about them while presenting glam rock. The result was surprising and rather interesting. Afterwords brings us back now in a better known territory, a territory explored 10 years ago not only by them, but also by several other pop rock bands that were a result of the post grunge period. The beats and guitars are still as effective, but with a greater intimacy on most of the songs, which are, it should be said, all love songs. Among those which arise among others, let’s note the opening track, the powerful "New Vibration", which has the quality to catch our attention for the rest of the CD. After some effective songs that don’t have anything particular, "I Don't Need Anymore Friends", composed and sung by the guitarist Joel Kosche, offers us a different sound than Ed Roland’s compositions, Roland having composed everything else, as usual.
