This hike in the past was only 6 miles but a new found foot trail & stream crossing allows us to hike in a new area never explored by the Mountain Club. This may be the best hike at Prettyboy. We will follow the Prettyboy Trail, a foot trail with spectacular water views 90% of the time, and include the best loop on the CCC trails. A++ hike for great views of the watershed, from small streams that open to coves and then to Prettyboy Lake. We will eat lunch with a great view of Goose Island. Several stream crossings. Our pace while hiking will be 2.75 - 3.3 mph (which is 10% faster than the normal pace for my hikes). A couple of bailout points are included in the hike. That way, people who find the pace more than they bargained for can safely return to their cars before the end of the hike, while the rest of the group can continue at the advertised pace. There are four stream crossings on this hike, relatively little rocky terrain, and only about 500+ feet of climbing. There will be no lunch break but we will have a 10 minute snack break.
