All city pavements, no need for boots or sticks .LEAVE: 10.00 A.M. 327 Ilchester Ave, Baltimore MD 21218. Located between 28th & 29th off Guilford Ave. Plenty of parking on the two blocks of Ilchester and around the corner on Barclay. (No time limit or permit to worry about.). If you need to use restroom, available at McDonalds on 29th & Greenmount (arrive a little early). Eat your bag lunch in Wyman Park Dell (Park). LEADER: Deborah Flint, [email protected], 410-340-7402 WEDNESDAY – MARCH 2 – PATAPSCO VALLEY SP – AVALON/ORANGE GROVE – 7M Hike about 7 miles at a moderate pace with several hills and stream crossings. MEET: Swinging Bridge parking lot in Patapsco Valley State Park, 5120 South Street (just off Rt. 1) Baltimore MD 21227. GPS N 39-13’11.0 W076-42’18.3. Once in park go 1.2 miles. WEDNESDAY – MARCH 2 – AT ACROSS MD SERIES – 10H An out and back hike of a total of 11.6 miles going south from Gathland State Park to Weverton Cliffs overlook. Total elevation gain is 2,000’ with the longest climb of 450’ over .8 mile. Moving pace averages 2.5 to 3 miles per hour. LEAVE: 8:45 A.M. from Howard County Fairgrounds, take I-70 Exit 80 south on MD-32, 0.25 mile to west on MD-144, 0.5 mile to fairgrounds. SATURDAY – MARCH 5 – PRETTYBOY RESERVOIR – BOLLINGER TRAIL HIKE – 10M Join us for a 10 mile hike in a remote area on the northeastern side of Prettyboy Reservoir on fire roads with some hills and several stream crossings. Multiple (5+) gorgeous water views & a fantastic view at lunch. This hike in the past was only 6 miles but a new found foot trail & stream crossing allows us to hike in a new area never explored by the Mountain Club. This may be the best hike at Prettyboy. No calls after 8 p.m. CARPOOL COST:.$2.00 SUNDAY – MARCH 6 – LIBERTY RESERVOIR: MINERAL HILL TRAIL – 11/12M This out and back hike will cover the entire Mineral Hill trail at Liberty Reservoir, which consists of fire roads, a couple bushwhacks, and many water views. There are a couple easy stream crossings and a little over 1400 feet of total elevation gain. Lunch will be near the water. Our pace will be moderate (2.5 – 3 mph moving average). LEAVE: 9:15 A.M. from the Park-N- Ride at 6400 Sykesville Rd, Sykesville, MD 21784 on the east side of Sykesville Rd. (MD-32) about 0.5 miles south of Liberty Rd. (MD-26). From I-695, Exit 18, take Liberty Rd. about 12.5 miles west to MD-32 turn left (south) for about 0.5 miles (lot will be on the left).
