Visit to the Information centre of Strandja Nature park. 14:00-Departure to the village of Brashlyan 14.30 - 15.30 – Lunch in local guest house – tasting traditional Strandja meals (zelnik, honey, etc.) 15:30 -17:00 Visiting the architectural reserve of the village of Brashlian - a specialized tour around the village streets for familiarization with the typical architecture of the Strandja house, famil- iarization with topics from the field of village history, business livelihood and lifestyle. Visiting the Ethnographic Collection in an ancient house in Brashlyan. Visiting the church and the church school in Brashlyan. 17:00 -17:30 – Coffee-break 17.30 - Departure from Malko Tarnovo to Primorsko. 18.30 - Arrival in Primorsko. Talk about Veleka River (in Turkish- Kocadere) - the largest river in Strandja and the Southern Black Sea coast, with a total length of 147 km (in Turkish territory 24 km) - one of the symbols of good neighborliness and cooperation between the two countries. Visit to "Veleka River mouth" Protected Site. Participation in a specialized tourist boat tour – watching the dense vegetation, river inhabitants, wood species and the phenomenon of sandy hair at the mouth of the Veleka River. Visit of the "Path of birds" eco-trail - over the boats port- presentation of interpretation and anima- tion of visitors on specific topics of the natural heritage. Visit to “Primorska Strandja” Information and Visitor Center in Ahtopol: screening a film about nature, the history and livelihood of the region and the opportunities for development of nature tourism (20 minutes); discussing the presented visual materials and talk about the strategy for tourism devel- opment in Strandja Nature Park and the "Uzunbujak" UNESCO Biosphere Park. Visit to an archaeological collection "Museum of the Anchor" in Ahtopol. 14.30 - 15.30 - Lunch. 15:30 -19:00 - Leisure (beach, swimming pool, sports activities) 19.30 - 20.30 - Dinner. DAY III (13.09.2018): PRIMORSKO –BEGLIKTASH – PRIMORSKO -BURGAS LAKES -DEBELT- SOZOPOL - PRIMORSKO –133 km 08.00 - 09.00 – Coffee-break 10.00 - 11.00 – Visiting the Thracian rock sanctuary “Beglik tash”. 11:00-12:00 - Visiting the Municipal Historical Museum in Primorsko. 12.00-13.00 - Lunch 13.00 - 19.00 - Activities under the following programme: Visit to Burgas lakes – Mandrensko and Vaya. BACKGROUND INFORMATION 1. On Wednesday 5 January 2011, the Bulgarian authorities confirmed a case of foot and mouth disease (FMD) in one of three wild boars shot on 30 December 2010 in the municipality of Malko Tarnovo, Burgas region, around 2 km from the border with Turkey. 2. Bulgaria has implemented the measures in the framework of Council Directive 2003/85/EC of 29 September 2003 on EU measures for the control of foot-and-mouth disease. The measures provided for in the Directive include epidemiological investigation, suspension of hunting and a ban in feeding wild animals, placing under official surveillance holdings keeping animals of susceptible species, inspection by an official veterinarian of all wild animals shot or found dead, surveillance programmes and prevention measures applicable to the holdings keeping animals of susceptible species and if necessary, in its surroundings, including the transport and movement of animals of susceptible species within, from and to the area, etc. 3. The Bulgarian authorities established a protection zone of 3 km and a surveillance zone of 10 km radius around Kosti and launched a sero-epidemiological surveillance programme within the surveillance zone and in all villages and settlements in the municipalities of Sredets, Malko Tarnovo and Tsarevo. 4.

It has a common border with Republic of Turkey, which is an important factor in international tourism. Burgas region covers the attractive parts of Eastern Stara planina mountain, the northern mountain-spurs of Strandja, Nature Park “Strandja”, eastern parts of upper Thracian lowland, Burgas lowland etc. It includes the South Blacksea coast on the east, which is most attractive for tourism development. The Region offers a combination of sea-side recreation tourism, route-cognitive, rural, cultural tourism and ecotourism in an area with an extraordinary variety of natural and anthropogenic tourist resources. The geographical location of the region is exceptionally favourable and the transport provision to the main tourist objects of the region is fully covered by the international airport, harbours, rail-way station and road access. The climatic conditions of the Region are determined by its geographical location. In its area several climate influences are combined but the transcontinental climate is mostly marked. The influence of the Black sea and the Mediterranian lands is obvious. The town of Malko Tarnovo is known as a climate health resort of national significance since 1967. All towns and villages on the Black Sea coast are very favourable for climate healing and marinotherapy. St. Vlas is a small health resort town nestled down at the eastern foot of the mountain Stara planina close to the beach. The coast of St. Vlas is developing as the most picturesque Black sea resort of Bulgaria entirely facing to the South, a kind of Bulgarian Riviera beginning with the sea resort Sunny beach including the settlement itself, the holiday complex “Elenite” and ending in Emona cape.

The four countries around the Black Sea- Bulgaria, Turkey, Georgia and Armenia, are a paradise for mountain biking with innumerable cycle routes on gravel roads, in the mountains and along rough cart roads. Their dramatic natural landscapes offer challenging and rewarding slick rock trails, lush green single track, ruins of ancient civilizations, canyons and secret paths to explore. The mountain biking in and around Black Sea is some of the best trail riding in Europe. There are no restrictions on using bikes on the routes.
