Charlie has worked with Linda Hargrove (Smooth Tennessee Whiskey & Just Close the Door and many more). He has performed and co -written songs with Jack Pearson of the Allman Brothers, performed with Joe Stampley and the Uniques, performed with Reese Wyman of Stevie Ray Vaughn, Johnny Neel of Government Mule, and Jimmy Hall, Wet Willie. Charlie also worked with Chris Nole, Nashville producer, recording artist, and session player. In 2016 Charlie has an original "Strange Brew", co-writer Jack Pearson that is on a compilation album with Fog Hat, Billy Bob Thornton and the Box Masters, Paul Thorn, and many more Southern Rock/Blues artist. Charlie has a song, “Home in A Little While”, that is recorded by Mike Freeman, soloist of the year for 2015 for GMAA and nominated for 2016 soloist) and is currently on Gospel and Country Radio. Charlie and his best friend, guitar slinger Tim Takewell have been going strong together for almost 20 years performing together and making records. Our band, the Smokin’ Section, was formed after me and my wife moved back from Nashville, TN. The Charlie Wood & Smokin’ Section Band plays blues, funk, rock, and soul. We play mix of cover tunes and my original tunes that are in the same genre. We are playing Louisiana and Mississippi and now expanding into Texas and Arkansas. We play Casinos, Festivals, Large Clubs, Private Parties, etc. Our music brings energy and excitement to another level. We know how to entertain, and you will be made to feel apart of our show.
