Ongoing Events: In addition to the meetings, meals, and other activities in the schedule below, there are many ongoing activities. • General Assembly Exhibit Hall: Located in Hall C at COBO, and open from 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 14, through 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 18. This is an excellent way to find out about the latest resources and happenings across the denomination, so plan to visit the displays of each of the General Assembly agencies and many related projects and not-for-profit groups, and those of many commercial vendors. The Bookstore (jointly sponsored by Presbyterian Publishing Corporation and PMA’s Curriculum Publishing) and the Global Marketplace are highlights of the hall.

• Face-to-Face: Church Leadership Connection (CLC) (www.pcusa.org/clc), a ministry of the Office of the General Assembly, will sponsor a Face-to-Face event at the assembly. Search committees, mid council staff, teaching elders, and other church professionals have an opportunity to move beyond the written words of Personal Information Forms (PIF) and Ministry Information Forms (MIF) to meet and talk directly with one another about the possibility of ministry together. Face-to-Face is an opportunity to connect with a number of folks in one place over several days, and an opportunity to be open to the movement of the Holy Spirit leading you to places and people you may have never imagined. • Spaces for Prayer o Two rooms at COBO are set aside for personal prayer and spiritual refreshment and staffed by volunteers from the committee on local arrangements. 9:00 a.m.-10:30 a.m. Women’s Leadership Institute/ Young Women’s Leadership Event Marriott Continued LaSalle Session 1 Riverside Conversations COBO 8:30 a.m.–9:15 a.m. Sponsored by: Office of the General Assembly The Riverside Conversations is a pre-assembly experience for Session 2 commissioners and advisory delegates. On Saturday morning before 9:30 a.m.–10:15 a.m. the 221st GA convenes the commissioners and advisory delegates will begin engaging the key issues before the General Assembly, encountering each other and listening for God’s Spirit of discernment as a gathering body.

Two periods of 45-minute Conversations will be scheduled. All topics will be repeated so commissioners and advisory delegates can choose two conversations without conflict. The six Conversations are: • Conversations about the Mid Council Commission Report: The 219th assembly created a special commission concerned with current and future mid councils for the church which was continued by the 220th assembly. Their report and recommendations will come before this assembly. The commission leadership will lead this conversation. 430B • Conversations about the Confession of Belhar: A special committee of the 220th assembly will bring a recommendation that this assembly approve the inclusion of the Confession of Belhar in the Book of Confessions. Leadership of the special committee will give background on what they believe this confession will bring to the life of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). 330A • Christian Marriage in the PC(U.S.A.) Study: The 220th General Assembly directed the Office of Theology and Worship to develop study materials on marriage and engage in a season of serious study and discernment on the meaning of Christian marriage. This conversation will be a reflection of that study and some of the responses from presbyteries across the church. 430A • Recommendations on engagement and divestment from Mission Responsibility Through Investment (MRTI): The Presbyterian Mission Agency Board is bringing forward recommendations from MRTI that involve active engagement, investment and divestment in companies related to mission responsibility. Membership of MRTI will use this conversation to share the back ground of their recommendations and create a place for conversation. 310A • Moderatorial Candidate Introductions: There are currently

Shaarey Zedek Congregation is a conservative Jewish synagogue, named one of the “top ten breathtaking places of worship” in the United States, a phenomenal example of 1960s futuristic architecture. The congregation was founded in 1861; in 1913 it became one of the founding congregations of the United Synagogue of America. Mother of God Chaldean Catholic Church is an eastern church from Iraq. Chaldeans began immigrating to the Detroit area from northwest Iraq as far back as 1910, drawn by jobs in the automobile industry. After World War II, the Chaldean Patriarch, in conjunction with the Archdiocese of Detroit, sent a priest of their own rite to these Chaldean rite Catholics. By 1966 the parish had grown to one thousand families. This church was consecrated in 1980. St. John’s Armenian Orthodox Church also grew from a small flock to a thriving community. This has become one of the largest Armenian communities in the US. Their first permanent pastor was installed in 1913, and this church with a golden dome was consecrated in 1966.
