Key Facts About the Site About Our Scheme This exhibition gives you the chance to view and comment upon our proposals for new community facilities as part of our residential development at Longford Park in Banbury. Following this exhibition Welcome to our we will start the process of drawing up a planning application for our proposed community facilities, public exhibition including a new public park, community centre and sports pavilion. This public consultation gives you the chance to help us shape the planning application by providing your feedback. All comments will be taken into consideration as we finalise our masterplan before submitting our planning application to Cherwell District Council in the near future. Background In September 2009 Cherwell District Council granted outline planning permission for a residential development with community facilities and public open space at Longford Park. The development site is located on the south-eastern fringes of Banbury, off Bankside and the A4260 Oxford Road, and at the northern edge of Bodicote village. Phase 1 of our development is currently under construction, and we are now in the process of developing plans for a range of public amenities within the site, including a public park and recreation space, a sports pavilion and a community hall which will form part of the Longford Park local centre. Additionally, we have recently submitted detailed plans to Cherwell District Council for our Phase 2 residential development and expect a decision to be made on this application later in the year. The proposed new homes development will be traditional in design and in keeping with local building styles and materials, as illustrated in the artist’s impression below. Affordable housing 83 of the new homes in phase 2 of Longford Park will be provided as affordable housing. Affordable housing provision is likely to comprise a mixture of 1, 2, 3 and 4 bedroom homes to be made available for social rent and shared ownership through a local housing association. Parking provision Residents’ car parking within our proposed development will largely take the form of garages, driveways and allocated off-street parking spaces. There will be a number of designated visitors’ spaces. Landscaping and open space This phase of residential development will feature a large area of public open space to the north of the site, providing opportunities for recreation and play for both existing and new residents. Local amenities The new homes in phase 2 will border the site allocated for a new primary school as part of the overall Longford Park development, while a local centre with a number of shops will be located in the south-western corner of this site.
