COVID-19 – Pandemic Policy

In order to protect students, staff and our communities and to limit the spread of novel coronavirus COVID-19, the Government of requires all incoming international students to quarantine for 14 days upon arrival.

Lambton College has signed a COVID Readiness Plan Agreement with the Provincial Government to permit our college to accept and register international students for study in Canada. To comply with this agreement, Lambton College, along with Queens College and Cestar College, have implemented the following processes and protocols. Please note that we are legally required to follow these protocols as part of our provincially and federally approved DLI COVID-19 Readiness Plan:

 All Lambton College international students coming from abroad will be required to purchase a mandatory Quarantine Package from the College.  All students must cooperate with daily compliance checks during their 14-day self-quarantine period.  All students are required to take a mandatory COVID-19 test during their self-quarantine period and report the result to College staff.

In the event that a student tests positive for COVID-19 while in quarantine, the student must remain in quarantine until the local health case worker, assigned to the student, approves the student’s departure from quarantine.

Failure to Comply or Co-operate

Students that fail to comply with these requirements ma be charged with a summary offense as per our College’s Student Code of Conduct policy. Students that purposely evade the requirements of Lambton College’s COVID-19 Readiness Plan requirements, including failure to register for a quarantine package, may be penalized. Penalties may include a fine of up to $500 for any extra costs incurred by the College to rectify non-compliance and/or de-registration from the College. A decision to de-register a student shall be made by the Associate Dean or Senior Dean of International Education at Lambton College on a case-by-case basis.

Not Liable or Responsible for Failure to Enter Canada
