Valens VA6000 ™ Valens VA6000 Product Overview Overview The Valens VA6000 integrated circuit (IC) tunnels high quality, multi-application data streams of USB 2.0, 100Mbps/1000Mbps Ethernet, audio and serial control signals over a cost effective, single unshielded twisted pair (UTP) cable, based on HDBaseT technology. The VA6000 offers increased flexibility to address specific applications and use cases. The VA6000 was originally developed by Valens to address the connectivity needs of the automotive market, and is now also optimized for audiovisual applications. The VA6000 enables the transmission of: • Symmetrical 500Mbps transmission of USB 2.0, 100Mbps Ethernet, I2S, I2C and UART for up to 100m over a Cat 6a cable • Symmetrical 2Gbps transmission of USB 2.0, 1G Ethernet, I2S, I2C and UART for up to 15m • Symmetrical 1.33Gbps transmission of USB 2.0 or 1G Ethernet, I2S, I2C and UART for up to 30m The VA6000 IC can be used as a point-to-point tunneling solution for several applications running simultaneously over a single cable, such as extenders of USB (cameras, storage devices, printers & touch panels), I2S and controls for up to 100m, or in daisy-chain topology, providing infrastructure for diversified applications such as video walls, in-flight passenger entertainment systems, and interactive touch kiosks. HDBaseT is optimized for time-sensitive, high throughput networks, ensuring delivery of real-time applications with near-zero latency over low-cost cables. Benefits • Unprecedented extension of USB 2.0 for up to 100m over standard Cat 6a cable, while utilizing only a single unshielded twisted pair, with RJ45/RJ11 or customized connector • Convergence of USB, Ethernet, audio and control interfaces • High bandwidth, symmetric channel • Specifically designed to handle harsh EMI and environmental interferences • Adaptive equalizer to compensate for cable aging, temperature changes, and physical and environmental impacts • Point-to-point and daisy-chaining topologies supported for increased flexibility in system design Architecture The Valens VA6000 is a transceiver embedded on both ends of the link, simplifying AV applications by converging multiple data streams over a single UTP lightweight cable.
